🌟 #Vossloh Beekay Castings Limited celebrates the 53rd edition of National Safety Week 🌟 This edition held from March 4th to 9th, 2024, marked yet another milestone in our commitment to workplace safety. Led by Biswajeet Patra, EHS Manager in India, and Mahesh Kumar, Managing Director of VBCL and VSS Head of Key Components, this annual event reinforced the importance of safety in our workplace and fostered a culture of awareness and responsibility among our employees.🛤 Throughout the campaign, our objectives were clear: ✔Raising awareness about the paramount importance of workplace safety, reaffirming that safety stands as our foremost priority. ✔Educating our workforce on best practices and safety protocols, empowering them to uphold a secure working environment. ✔ Instilling a sense of ownership and responsibility for safety among all employees, urging proactive engagement in accident prevention. ✔ Identifying and mitigating potential safety hazards within our organization. To achieve these goals 🎯, a series of engaging activities were orchestrated. From safety drills and emergency simulations to surprise fire evacuations, each initiative aimed to assess and improve our preparedness for any eventuality. In addition, our employees' children contributed by creating safety awareness posters, encouraging family involvement in our safety efforts. Employee engagement took center stage, featuring contests, quizzes, and safety-related competitions. The active participation of our employees underlines a real commitment to promoting a safer workplace and raising safety standards 🏭. Yesterday i presented a 1hr safety awareness call to members of the Mitie team from different accounts. The call was focused around the three most leading LTI trends across the business. Instead of merely presenting by going through the information I had, I held it as an open discussion with all those that attended. I used the slides as a topic header and simply drew from my career experience to give my perspective. I was particularly nervous before the call, but once I started walking back through my memories of being an engineer, tech manager, regional FM, I realised the nerves had gone. I had tapped into a confidence that the experience bubbled up in me. I always worry that I won’t have the information or knowledge to be able to lead discussions of this scale. But once I started reliving my career and walking others through real life experiences, I found that my knowledge of safety was at its best when used in practical application. Confidence is a key factor in how I perform and can at times drop if I feel I don’t have the same knowledge that others do. But I realised that I just hold a different type of knowledge, I store information in a different way to some. Experience for me is my knowledge, it is how I am at my best. The feedback I received after the discussion was fantastic, being told that the call had enabled people to encounter safety in a different way and to be able to interact as part of an open discussion was very beneficial to them. This really made my day as it was a pleasure to be able to use what I have done in my career to empower others with safety awareness and knowledge.
