In California's wine country, the harvest season is late this year due to an unusually cool and wet winter. This means grapes are being picked several weeks later than they normally would, and everything will be harvested at once. The frantic sprint has begun in areas like Napa and Sonoma to get grapes off the vines before the November rains arrive. Cue Guns n' Roses... In the middle of this hectic season, winemakers do not have time to worry about their power supply. They just know it has to stay on to keep the compressors running. The cooling, heating, the lights on. On top of this, California's wine country is prone to power outages this time of year caused by wildfires, early winter storms, heat waves, and more. Therefore, winemakers stock up on generators, but this is only a temporary solution. And a costly one at that. Watch the video below to learn more about how we are working with wineries and vineyards to help them discover onsite energy options.

Gifting and Subscription Expert | Sharing a taste of Napa Valley one gift and subscription box at a time!
It’s #WineWednesday! Over the last eight months we’ve followed the life of these vines: from the first tiny hints of bud break all the way through harvest. But what happens to them now? 🍂The vineyards follow the same path as most trees, turning from their lush green hues to bright reds, oranges and yellows. Driving through Napa Valley in the fall is one of my very favorite things… it’s absolutely gorgeous! This process then leads the vines into the next stage of their lifecycle: dormancy. 🪵During dormancy, the vines conserve their energy and resources just as bears do during hibernation. This allows them to withstand the harsher conditions that often come with winter. The leaves drop off and the vines appear dead - but lots is happening beneath the surface! ✂️Next up: pruning. Amid their dormancy the roots are absorbing nutrients and water from the soil to carry them through their upcoming growing season. During this time, growers will carefully remove the old, unproductive shoots to prepare the vines for a new round of bud break. And that takes us right back to where this journey began back in March - a new growing season begins! Follow along for new #WineWednesday content from Napa Valley each week 🍇 #wineindustry #napavalley #winebusiness
