Variable Valve Timing Tech Tip: Rough idle, stalling, lack of power, decreased fuel economy, engine noise, and a check engine light may all be signs of an issue with the complex VVT system. If you find that a solenoid or sprocket has failed, it’s likely the other VVT components are nearing the end of their service life too. Consider replacing both solenoids and sprockets at the same time and inspect/replace all related timing chain components in the VVT system. Hostshare - trade unbooked nights for free travel. Avadi engines - world class drone propulsion engines.
This year we undertook a difficult but necessary task and have re-developed the rotary valve for the (formerly) MA-250, now the MA-290 engine. Previously we were limited by the port diameter and flow coefficients to a degree that would have prevented us from achieving what we believed was possible. By re-orienting the rotary valve to a new location it enables us to have a much longer valve-open duration, thereby increasing the RPM limits and HP substantially while at the same time simplifying the design and improving durability. (the video is of the previous valve system, see the link for a look at what's changed) read more: https://lnkd.in/gBdBJSEq

Case Study of Morton Effect Experienced During a Mechanical Test of a Centrifugal Compressor Thanks Martin D.Maier & Glenn Grosso for sharing. Background: High synchronous vibration was observed on the drive end of a centrifugal compressor during light load shop testing. Thecompressor was a single extended unit with a relatively large coupling, operating at a maximum continuous speed of 14,259 RPM. As vibration levels were similarly elevated on the shop gearbox, a displacement probe was mounted at the midspan of the coupling. #vibration #vibrationanalysis #compressor #centrifugal #test

Today I want to talk about Dual Valve Timing (DVT) technology that is introduced by HIMSEN diesel generator. As you know, when the engine runs at low load, bad combustion is carried out, and consequently smoke is produced. HIMSEN presented a system which can rectify the mentioned problem, thus closing time of air intake valve is retarded, therefore more volume of air is imported to combustion chamber. Fig 1 shows 4-stroke time cycling with DVT and without DVT system. Now a question is created, how does the DVT work to retard the air intake valve?! Fig 2 gives the answer to this question. at middle of push rod a double acting cylinder is mounted, when the push rod moves up as opening of air intake valve, the high pressure and low pressure side are connected each other, so intake valve are opened without any delay. When push rod moves down as closing of intake valve, the oil in the lower part of the cylinder are trapped until the groove on the lower push rod connects high pressure side to low pressure side, therefore a time delay is created that causes retarding closing intake valve.

learn about #horn system #Introduction: Every vehicle uses the only electric horn. #component: 1: #Battary=It supply power to the ignition switch. And other line. 2: #horn_buttton=It connect to the battery positive connection. And also connect with the relay. 3: #Relay=It is a solenoid coil. It connects to the ignition switch or horn button. It has a contact breaker. It connects with the horn. 4:#Horn: Horn has a solenoid coil and plunger. The plunger is attached by the diaphragm. plunger connects to the initial contact breaker. And this gets current from the relay. And a wire connects with a horn coil. #work: when you on the ignition switch and press the horn button. The positive connection of the battery goes to the relay between the horn button and the ignition switch. The relay solenoid coil creates magnetic energy and pull the breaker lever and connects the contact line to the horn. Then the current goes to the horn contact breaker. And supply to the coil and create magnetic power. Or pull the plunger.and make a sound. But that time horn contact breaker breaks the contact and lost the current.and stop the sound. And diaphragm pulls the plunger.
