The terms cost function & loss function are analogous. Loss function: Used when we refer to the error for a single training example. Cost function: Used to refer to an average of the loss functions over an entire training data.

Very interesting read on #neuralnetworks and how to improve training. We really like Jarek Duda’s focus on practicality and we will be watching to see where this goes! #ResponsibleAi #SecureAi #VerifiableAi #PrivateAi
Information bottleneck method allows to directly optimize content of intermediate layers - both increasing mutual information with output, and decreasing with input to reduce noise, extract crucial information. I am working on new ANNs inexpensively able to directly use it for training ( https://lnkd.in/gaZMBZ_t ) - has maybe anybody tried to do it? Diagram from Tishby's https://lnkd.in/dZvYvpXW

Hands-On Fire Training Tools | Safe, Clean, Repeatable | Train Your Way | Wife Worshipper | Dog Lover | **My LinkedIn activities are personal and do not necessarily represent LION or its affiliates**
"Experiencing all that for the first time during an actual emergency means someone will likely die." This was shared by "Glenn," a natural gas distribution customer of mine who prefers to remain anonymous, in response to a prompt on the importance of Hands-On Training. "I am a big believer in hands-on training. The harder we train the better we are when the real thing happens. Our guys need to experience gas blowing between 30-500 psig...feeling the ground shake, hearing and being shocked by the intensity of the noise, and feeling the blast and the heat, all while trying to save the life of a coworker." You can't learn this from a textbook, an on-line video or a computer module. If you would like to learn more about how Hands-On Training can be accomplished in a safe, clean and repeatable manner, please contact us at LION, or click here to learn more: https://lnkd.in/gAUq45Vg You too can be #ReadyForAction because you practiced, using our #FireTraining tools.

Understand the subject. Ask yourself these questions..... Understand what you want to measure Why you want to measure Is there a need for measurement? What equipment? Is it reliable? Is the recording of data, a legal requirement? Is it fit for purpose? Do you have suitably trained staff?
