This is the functional diagram of the algorithm "amoenus externus", which produces an authentic reproduction of the stereo triangle on headphones. With a total of 9 very short delays per channel, a frontal sound image that can be perceived slightly outside the head is created, which corresponds to the original stereo image with loudspeakers in terms of timbre, localization and spatiality. Over the holidays, I made an Arduino-powered Christmas toy that lights up and says "Merry Christmas", whenever someone stands in front of it. I detail the effort in this technical blog: https://lnkd.in/geBfv7zc In it, I cover concepts like Pulse-Code-Modulation, used to digitize an audio signal and Pulse-Width-Modulation, used to convert it back to an analog signal that can be played on a speaker. I also touch upon audio amplification, and how to use the Arduino's timers to generate such a signal.
