Naturally, #Superman is not going to handle "product picking" in your #warehouse or #distribution center. But we can help your employees walk up to 3X faster. And why does that matter? So if you lead (or work for) a #3PL and are headed to #modex2024, we need to sync-up. Because having employees who can safely walk up to 3X faster means they can be over 250% more productive by slashing their on-the-job "Travel Times." We've learned that some distribution center / warehouse workers can walk up to 30,000 steps per day. But when they wear #Moonwalkers, their step counts can be slashed to as low as 13,000 steps. And it doesn't take the Man of Steel to know that fewer steps/day (while doing the same amount of work), has got to be easier on the body. To learn more, please click here to watch our short video about using Moonwalkers robotic shoes in #warehouses, distribution centers, and 3PL facilities: https://lnkd.in/gcVXB8ZY. And if you want to experience Moonwalkers for yourself, click here to schedule an appointment to meet with us at #MODEX24: https://lnkd.in/gRyZ2K2E. (We'll be in Booth #A9422.) Thanks. We look forward to seeing you at MODEX 2024. Team Shift Robotics P.S. If you've been "tagged" on this LI Post, it's because we believe you are interested in what we're doing at #ShiftRobitics. I spent time at MODEX, the industry show for supply chain and logistics. Think CES for warehouse, robots, AI, automation, and packaging. It’s huge!! It was great to network with industry professionals like Kyle Walker from Ryder Ventures. We discussed how they are leveraging venture investing as a strategy to drive revenue growth and areas they overlap with some of our key partners. If it's not already automated, my guess is it will be soon. If you’re looking to expand your thinking attend an industry conference a bit outside your core focus area! #alwayslearning #venturegrowth #networking

OSM Worldwide has upgraded shipping capabilities to USPS with new regional hub sortation systems to speed fulfillment. The systems in Dallas and Pennsylvania can sort 20,000-30,000 packages per hour before sending to USPS for final delivery. This "automation mode" boosts throughput amid hiring struggles. OSM is a USPS-approved consolidator handling retailer volume before the USPS final mile. The systems and partnership with Ambi Robotics for AI parcel sorting robots aim to improve automation and efficiency. OSM is considering further expansion next year but took a measured approach compared to competitors' pandemic-driven warehouse growth. Read more on how OSM Worldwide is optimizing sorting to keep packages moving despite labor challenges. https://buff.ly/3Q2Ew6d #osmworldwide #automation #supplychain #warehouse #ambirobotics #robotics #ai #irsrecruiting

MODEX 2024. The world's largest supply chain specific trade show specialising in the latest supply chain specific technology and automation. Day 1 complete. The Extolla team were excited to see innovation such as the robots on the video below. Totes stacked up to 21 units high and vast width. Robots are able to, at speed and efficiency, sort at a volume we haven't seen before, with such a concentrated depth and width that would make any warehouse envious! There are many such examples of quality innovative and exciting new technology this year at MODEX. Extolla are at MODEX to network, connect and buy from the world's premium vendors. Take advantage of our presence at MODEX. Reach out if there is a particular tech you would like us to connect with. Let's have a discussion to assess if automation is right for your organisation. Extolla are technology agnostic and only recommend which technology and automation the would be right for you, not us. contact@extolla.com Peter Kendall David Bille Chris Linden David Harrison #supplychainsolutions #automationsolutions #supplychainexcellence #extolla #mustbeextolla #robotics

A picking solution that is compatible with AMRs and different sortation system? Check out the new RightPick4👇🏽 RightHand Robotics, Inc showcased the new Rightpick 4, their solution to automate picking tasks at warehouses. What are the improvements from the previous RightPick 3 system?: ✅Can handle items up to 25% larger and 50% heavier, from 2 kg to 3 kg🏋🏽. ✅ A suction cup swapper allowing the use of the optimal suction cup and expanding the pickable range. ✅Reduced amount of manual interventions by up to 80%through software features, like more advanced picking strategies, multi-item pick detection, and improved segmentation. Picking tasks are high up on the list for automated tasks, but as #ecommerce grows picking solutions can set themselves apart by being handling a larger variety of SKUs and odd sized items. [📽️:RightHand Robotics, Inc] Big shoutout to Paul Eyre, Brendon Bielat, Yaro Tenzer and the rest of the team at RightHand Robotics, Inc on the new updates! Looking forward to see what it can do! Warehouse operations are complex and involve many moving parts. No automation solution can claim to do everything, from beginning to end. For this reason, BionicHIVE is developing the SqUID to be able to integrate seamlessly with other automation solutions. In this illustration, a robotic solution unloads the cartons from a truck. They are subsequently placed onto a SqUID, which will store them securely on a rack. When it's time for picking, the SqUID can retrieve the item and bring it to a designated location. And, just like that, a simple integration can help facilities become more efficient, from truck to shelf...and beyond. What do you think? What other integrations would you recommend? #BionicHive #tech #automation #robotics #manufacturing #logistics #supplychain #warehousing #future #innovation #trucking #storage #labor

Warehouse Robotics Expert @ AutoStore | I'm a 3x robot whisperer and ex-AMZN - I share stories and lessons after deploying 10,000+ robots with customers.
Is the bin is mightier than the pod? KIVA SYSTEMS INC cracked open the warehouse robotics market, and clearly Amazon has leveraged the tech to save 1 million miles of walking everyday*. But just yesterday, Amazon Fulfillment Technologies & Robotics announced that perhaps delivering just a bin of product instead of a shelf can be: more efficient, more ergonomic, and simpler to operators. This development started 10 years ago in advanced programs as #ToteFetch - see below. As Jerome Dubois liked to explain (wildly paraphrasing), "if you need an apple, a Kiva System brings you a whole tree, while a traditional ASRS might bring you a branch". This is why 6 River Systems, Part of Ocado Group chose to carry the orders to the apples, more efficient #person2goods. But interestingly, maybe #traditionalshuttles and AutoStore™ had it right the whole time. Its not lean to move a tree - move the minimum unit possible to hold most goods. Sure a shelf can expand to GOH or large cases, but that's usually a small sliver and slower moving - so leave on a manual pick or pallet area. Sure, various #amrs have come forward with bins in pods, whether its an #acr or other Kiva knockoffs that have workstations to handle tote transfers. No matter what they are slow, unproven, and batch tasks together creating bottlenecks and violating #leansixsigma #singlepieceflow principles. And don't get me started on systems that use more than one type of robot to get the bin from storage to pick - those two fleets will be inherently underutilized. One bot type, one tote at time = highest throughput for your dollar *500000 deployed bots * 2 miles saved per robot = 10 miles a day per FTE * 2 shifts / 10 robots

A detailed look into how robotics and automation are really changing how companies like Amazon, FedEx and others manufacture and move things. Contrary to some opinions, these technologies are generally creating jobs more than replacing them. However, the newly created jobs are more technical and generally not accessible to the warehouse workers that are being replaced. This is increasing the pressure to find solutions for workforce evolution and transition. #futureocwork #industry4.0
