What a privilege and honor 🍀 ✨ 🙏
Recently, I had an opportunity to attend an enlightening webinar hosted by the ISTA - International Seed Testing Association focused on the critical topic of "Samplers Monitoring” with the panelist Florina Palada , Head of ISTA Accreditation & Technical Department, Corinne Guimier , Chair of ISTA Bulking and Sampling Committee, Eddie Goldschagg , Vice-Chair of ISTA Bulking and Sampling Committee.
As someone deeply involved in agriculture and seed quality assurance and control, this webinar provided invaluable insights into the best practices, challenges, and innovations surrounding seed sampling techniques and monitoring methodologies. In this post, I will share the key takeaways and reflections from this informative session.
Seed sampling is the cornerstone of seed quality testing, serving as the initial step in assessing the seed viability, physical purity, thousands of kennel weight, seed vigor and genetic integrity of the seed lots. By obtaining representative samples from seed lots, seed producers and regulatory agencies can accurately evaluate seed quality parameters such as germination rate, moisture content, purity, and genetic purity. The integrity of the entire seed testing process hinges upon the reliability and accuracy of the initial sampling procedure.
Attending the ISTA webinar on samplers monitoring was a valuable learning experience that deepened my understanding of the critical role of seed sampling in ensuring seed quality and integrity. By incorporating the insights gained from this webinar into my work, I am better equipped to contribute to the continuous improvement of seed sampling practices and uphold the highest standards of seed quality assurance and control.
I am looking forward to applying these learnings and engaging in further discussions and collaborations within the seed testing community to drive innovation and excellence in seed sampling methodologies.
