Tata Group's Tata Technologies will form a joint venture with BMW, a German luxury car maker, to establish an automotive software and IT development hub in Pune, Bengaluru, and Chennai. The primary development and operations activities will be centred in Bengaluru and Pune, while Chennai will focus on business IT solutions. Initially, Tata Technologies will incorporate the company as a wholly-owned subsidiary. Once both parties meet the closing conditions, including merger-control approval, BMW will invest in the company, acquiring a 50% stake in the post-investment equity-share capital of the entity. The joint venture will deliver automotive software, Software-defined Vehicle (SDV) solutions for BMW Group's premium vehicles, and digital transformation solutions for its business IT.
