#sportsindustrychallenge Day#11... Today's topic is Nostalgia which is influenced by Tradition which is at the core of #sports. Cultural & community traditions, family legacies & school histories are all swirling around the field/court, the spectator stands & the practice facility. Sports ties the young and formerly young together uniquely in many aspects that reflect life outside athletic competition: setting goals, campaigning for results, celebrating success. Caution: Don't Try To "Re-Invent" Sports... That Doesn't Work. Because Nostalgia & Tradition beget strong impulses against it. Instead try to make sports more accessible, more engaging, more convenient & productive. I see a formula out there in technology products for #baseball #basketball #tennis #soccer #volleyball etc aimed at individual development with upscaling features for teams, leagues & orgs. Take note: #EnterTrainment starts with mass appeal & the masses have traditions.

Do your people know their "why"? “When it comes to motivation for the long term, I would say ��find your why’,” explains Zeniece Hall, tennis player and head of sports development at Badu Sports . “Don’t do it because it’s a trend or just because your friend’s doing it. If you’re not moving for your own reason then it’s not going to last very long."
