Roberto Cavalli, the Italian designer synonymous with vibrant animal prints and sand-blasted denim, has died in Florence. He was 83 years old. Born in Florence, Cavalli studied textile print before going on to launch his fashion brand in 1970. He presented his first collection for Prêt-à-Porter in Paris at age 30. It was there that his work, which included a revolutionary printing procedure on leather that he invented and patented, quickly garnered the notice of fashion industry mainstays including Pierre Cardin. He went on to open his first boutique in Saint-Tropez in 1972, and was soon after invited to present at the historic Sala Bianca in Florence. Throughout his career, the Roberto Cavalli brand became synonymous with bold, brightly-coloured dresses oozing in sex appeal, heavy use of animal prints and innovative approach to fabrics. He went on to introduce additional lines, including RC Menswear, Just Cavalli, which was marketed to a younger consumer, and a children’s collection. The brand also expanded into hospitality, opening its Cavalli Café in Florence in 2002, a concept it eventually brought to other cities, including Milan and Miami. As if it were a precious necklace containing many small gems, the world of fashion is frequently experiencing the loss of truly great protagonists of Made in Italy. Today Roberto Cavalli has left us, a protagonist in the eighties for his predisposition to depict wild animals in his fabrics or more simply the marks on the skin of tigers, leopards, snakes etc. Roberto, an eccentric man in love with love with children and families. I’m deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Roberto Cavalli, a true visionary in the fashion world. His bold and innovative designs redefined glamor and brought joy and artistry to the industry. We enjoyed his inspiring presence with Italian design and style in Berlin City at Royal Boulevard Kurfürstendamm 184. Located next to Dolce Gabana, Chanel and Bottega Veneta. With passion and courage Roberto Cavalli took over the iconic flagshipstore from Mulberry England. The best stories are not invented but written again. Oggi ci ha lasciato Roberto Cavalli, protagonista negli anni ottanta per la sua predisposizione di raffigurare nelle sue stoffe animali selvaggi o più semplicemente i segni sulla pelle di tigri Leopardi serpenti ect. Roberto, un uomo eccentrico innamorato dell’amore con figli e famiglie. Particolare interessante perché parliamo di vere famiglie. Contro qualsiasi pregiudizio amante della vita allegra elegante e vibrante. Le sue passioni oltre il design la cultura dei vini eancora tanto. I grandi successi con collaborazioni anche in ambiti differenti comunque preziosi anche nei risultati. Se n’è andato dopo una sofferenza complessa adesso da lassù tra stelle e luci si insinua la sua. Un ‘animo nobile libero oramai dai dolori, leggero volerà piacevolmente tra gli spazi infiniti del cielo.
