"What you did, saw, and/or learned (good or bad) in your job/internship over the course of the semester that was beneficial for your future, would I be pleased with the way I performed at work this year if I were my manager? What are three tangible career goals I can set for myself for the Spring semester? What can I do to go above and beyond my job description for the Spring semester?" In the past semester I have been through many different career experiences, I spent a large majority of my time at Publix, where I learned and became proficient in many avenues of the retail industry. Unfortunately, I encountered an issue with getting hours, so I had to quit, and find employment at "Lee Wrangler." Here I used my Publix skills to keep up with my store, making sure everything was stocked and neatly folded. I also learned how to operate a cash register while at Lee Wrangler. If i were my manager at either spot of employment I would be ecstatic to have me on the team. I provide hard work and dedication to my job whilst also providing a friendly environment for my coworkers. In the future I plan to keep improving and reaching goals that I have set myself. for example, achieving a raise. I would also like to gain more experience in my work tasks, so I can become the best at them, to furthermore prove myself as a dependable and dedicated worker. finally, I would like to gain more hours Aswell. this would not only help me financially but also gain me the experience I need. Going above and beyond what I'm asked for is something I pride myself in. Dear network, I am thrilled to share that I recently completed the externship focused in On-Premise Sales & Marketing activities at Red Bull! This experience has been incredibly enriching and has provided me with valuable insights and skills. During this time, I had the opportunity to: Leverage Excel: I utilized Excel to visualize and analyze the performance of our on-premise clients, identifying which clients are excelling and which may need more support. Communicate Insights: I communicated these observations with the Red Bull team, shedding light on the factors contributing to the varying performance levels of different clients. Overcome Objections: By employing active listening and social proof techniques. As my Retail Sales internship at Driscoll's comes to an end, I wanted to share an update on my projects and accomplishments during my time here! With the support of Thomas Ansolabehere and Lisandro Albor, I was able to complete the first of my five excel based projects. Focusing on creating time savings, simplifying processes, adding value, and increasing efficiency, I was able to engineer a fully automated order entry sheet builder that decreased the time spent on this task from one hour to 15 minutes per week. With the support of Alexsis Navarro-Calero, I engineered a similar sheet with the same values in mind for my second project, decreasing time spent on this sheet building process from 45 minutes a week to 15. Shifting my focus into my third project, and with support from David Ghio and Alexsis Navarro-Calero, I automated another excel sheet that is used in daily communication and order entry for a top account. I was able to create more organization within the sheet and decrease time spent on this task, transforming an incredibly manual and time consuming process into a streamlined procedure, now taking no more than 15 minutes to complete. For my fourth project, I shifted my focus to an account that I was not familiar with to automate another order entry and order adjustment process. With the support of Maria Vasquez and Jorge Vargas, I engineered an excel tool that creates order adjustments for you based on limited information creating another timesaving's for my team. The implementation of my tool was able to save my coworker 30-45 minutes a week on order adjustments. For my fifth and final project, and with the support of Jensen Devaurs, I focused on another account that I was not familiar with to edit an existing excel file that is also used in daily communication and order entry with a top account. Through my changes, the sheet now automatically generates projected volumes and pricing with the simple adjustment of one cell. My work on this sheet was able to create a 30-45 minute time savings a week for my coworker. I was also able to conduct 11 informational interviews with representatives from different departments in an effort to create more connections and learn more about how Driscoll's operates as a company. I am truly grateful for my time here, and can confidently say I will walk away with a new passion and appreciation for the fresh produce industry as a whole. Excellent internship opportunity

Fall of 2019, I began my college career having not a clue what I wanted to do in terms of a major or a long-term career. I started taking general courses at a local community college while working part-time as a Salesfloor Associate. Shortly thereafter, it seemed as if the world turned upside down, with many rushing to stores to stock up on necessities and essential items. As someone who worked in the store throughout the pandemic, I saw how unforeseen demand impacted our ability to provide for the customer and how the business adapted to the changing consumer shopping habits by leveraging its stores and e-commerce business to meet their needs. Intrigued by the industry's fast-paced development and exponential growth, I knew that I wanted to continue working in retail and focus my career on developing more resilient supply chains. I write all of this to say that it's been an unforgettable experience working for Target this summer as an Inventory Analyst Intern. I learned a lot about the large, ever-growing Target supply chain and worked with some awesome interns on optimizing first-mile truckloads through UOM recommendations. 🤲 Through my experience, I now understand why Target is ranked one of Fortune's top workplaces. The company invests time and resources into its team members, local communities, DE&I initiatives, and sustainability efforts to create opportunity and equity for all. Also, I can't talk about culture without mentioning the great people working at Target. The #caregrowwintogether culture is alive and thriving at Target, thanks in large part to the many great, supportive, growth-minded individuals I've met this summer, from Sr. Directors, Planners, Buyers, IAs, and other interns. 🎯 I'm genuinely grateful to have had the opportunity to spend my time at Target this summer. Yesterday, I closed out my General Mills Mills NAR Sales internship with #nationalinternday2023 in Minneapolis, MN. I had the opportunity to meet interns in finance, category management, sourcing, supply chain, etc. and learn about all the different experiences and projects that go towards making food the world loves. General Mills’ passion and dedication to caring for the earth and fulfilling customer needs is why they continue to grow and what make the Forbes rated #1 employer for new grads stand apart from other Fortune 500 companies. Going into this experience, I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. As a sales intern, would I be cold calling customers? Would I be acting as an assistant to a mentor and learn how they operate within the company? I even wondered if the rumors about interns being sent on coffee runs were all too true. However, General Mills knew what kind of investment they were making into each and every one of us and maximized our talents to the fullest. We received actual experience that allowed us to make recommendations supported by data that could actually impact the company. Seeing World HQ this week and meeting all of the unique individuals that make up the General Mills family (and I truly mean family) really gave me clearer prospects for the kind of company I want to continue being a part of. They don’t just know, but rather live by a philosophy that going alone, you can go fast but going with others, you can go far. Most memorable of this weekend was our intern Q&A session with Jeff Harmening Harmening who reiterated that money shouldn’t be the first priority when moving up in a company, and that you should do what you find interesting. Do what you think is a good idea. At the end of the day, you enjoy what you do, which means it will be a job well done, and it could open the door to other interesting opportunities, like CEO of a Fortune 500 company. This piece of advice totally changed my perspective and gave me more confidence about the career path I am choosing for myself. I added a certificate in Business Data Analytics to my career path even though it would add a semester because I found that aspect of my General Mills intern experience to be interesting. I am pursuing a MBA in Marketing because I find it interesting. I have 3 years of school left because I am taking advantage of opportunities that I find interesting, and I hope to one day come back to General Mills because I found it interesting, exciting, and awe-inspiring, and it’s a company that will allow me to continue to do things that I find interesting. #generalmills #internlife

A few weeks ago, I finished my internship at Springs Window Fashions! My main project for the Summer focused on implementing a solution to better communicate to the Field Sales Team. Originally, the Field Service Representatives (FSRs) were being bombarded with emails, in which they couldn't focus on their actual Sales. However, with mastering the platform "Drip," I created a weekly email that was sent out to FSRs called "The Source." I was able to manipulate the platform to drive FSR engagement, and gave them the tools they needed in a "one-stop-shop," so they could really dive into increasing their Sales. 💰 Overall, I learned so much including how to own my work, how to work with other departments, and also how to communicate to others, as challenges are inevitable. Today I presented my final project - a culmination of my work since beginning my internship in May! As a merchandising intern placed in allocations and replenishment for tackle, my project was analyzing freshwater reels/combos clusters and the tiers within to ensure correct levels of inventory were going to the appropriate 400+ tackle carrying stores. I was also able to determine if it was a possibility to consolidate any of the clusters within freshwater reels/combos. This project involved a lot of critical thinking and careful research - I learned countless new knowledge about the data and metrics that go behind these decisions in the merchandising world, especially the inventory planning side! #merchandising #DSG #DSGlife #internship #intern #inventoryplanning

I was recently talking to Kerry Hoffman about the varying jobs I had in college. When I was younger, nothing was better than the feeling of getting a paycheck-- some young folks focused extra on sports, some on school, but I was all about the hustle. When I was a senior in college I had the hustle going on. I was an RA in the dorms at school, and I worked at DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse in San Francisco. I would soon get a marketing internship at an event ticketing company and be running all 3 at one time in addition to school. My favorite of the three was working at DSW. I always love shoe shopping with my friends and I have always prided myself on convincing my friends to buy a new pair of boots. One time at DSW, a cool and trendy woman came in and came straight to the 2nd floor, where we sold women's heels and flats. She said, "Okay, I'm going to Vegas this weekend and I need help finding 4 pairs of shoes." I said "Okay let's go!" and I spent the next hour with her trying on shoes, talking about the events of the trip, and hearing how excited she was to get on the plane. It was so much fun to just help her. Even though the fact that she was buying 4 pairs of shoes was good for the store's revenue, it felt good to feel like I was making myself available to help her. This is why I've enjoyed roles throughout my career where I can feel like I'm helping folks. Whether that is in Customer Support, HR, Consulting, etc, I am someone who thrives on feeling like I'm making someone's day better. Even in my comedy career, it's less about getting attention for myself, and more about lightening someone's load in these tough times. As I look at roles and companies to apply for, I think about how the role connects to helping make folks' days better. Is my role helping employees get what they need? Is the company I work for making the world better in some way? Does the role give me the pride I'll need and the flexibility I desire to share my passions and messages with the world? Helping people... Is this what motivates you too?
