It's amazing what started as a local Fire News Blog, 12.5 years ago, has transpired into something amazing and fun to write. Here are some impressive stats and just added more data-collecting measurements. Started in January 2012, to recognize the men and women in the firefighting profession from the skies to the ground, to the volunteers to the professional career firefighters. One of my favorite all-time specialties is those who fight wildfires, as you can see from many of my posts. Some here have tried to get me to hire them as a Social Media Manager or "buy" my "stats" but these are all home-grown. I am proud to be part of this successful project. I hope more of you can do the same, as I have started a blog from the ground up and with no experience whatsoever, except as a Writer. It may be over a decade, but I am just getting started, and a vast cache of more to share about what's happening in the Firefighting World. Thank you to those who have helped me down this journey from the beginning, now, and well into the future. As of today, here are some interesting stats: Posts: 6,700 Views: 940,000 Hits: 74,000,000 Reach: Almost every single country around the Globe If you want to see what I have created, check out my Fire News blog at https://thenwfireblog.com

Fire-rated doors are designed and constructed to help contain the spread of fire within a building, compartmentalizing it to protect occupants and property. Here are some benefits of fire-rated doors: 1. **Fire Protection**: The primary benefit of fire-rated doors is their ability to resist the spread of fire and smoke from one area to another within a building. They help in compartmentalizing a fire and providing a safe means of egress for occupants. 2. **Life Safety**: Fire-rated doors play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of building occupants by providing a barrier against the spread of fire and smoke, allowing people more time to evacuate the building in case of a fire. 3. **Property Protection**: Fire-rated doors help in protecting property by containing the fire to a specific area, minimizing the damage caused by the fire and smoke spread. 4. **Building Code Compliance**: Fire-rated doors are often required by building codes and regulations, especially in commercial and public buildings, to ensure the safety of occupants and property. 5. **Insurance Requirements**: Many insurance companies may require the installation of fire-rated doors as a safety measure to reduce the risk of fire-related damage and potential insurance claims. 6. **Increased Safety Measures**: Fire-rated doors are part of a comprehensive fire protection system that includes fire alarms, sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, and other fire safety measures to provide a safe environment for building occupants. 7. **Durability**: Fire-rated doors are constructed with materials that can withstand high temperatures and exposure to fire for a specified period, ensuring their functionality during a fire emergency. 8. **Peace of Mind**: Having fire-rated doors installed in a building can provide peace of mind to occupants, building owners, and property managers, knowing that there are measures in place to help mitigate the impact of a fire. Overall, fire-rated doors are an essential component of fire safety systems in buildings, providing critical protection against the spread of fire and smoke, enhancing life safety, and helping to minimize property damage during a fire emergency.
