Culture. I recently had a good friend tell me that setting the tone wouldn't affect our little group. Myself, New York Red Bulls, Sir Alex Furguson, and Jurgen Klopp couldn't disagree more, respectfully. Schein's Culture Model at Work: Level 1 - Core Assumptions aka "What We Believe": Giving of myself for others regardless of what they can get me creates the best environment for all Level 2 - Espoused Values or "What We Say": I will give of myself for others regardless of what they can get me Level 3 - Behaviour and Artifacts or "What We Do": See the clip below How you treat people matters everywhere you go, people are always taking notes silently. Oh, and would you look at what it means to the kids.

Being a leader goes beyond simply excelling in your role. It's about projecting a positive influence, taking a stand when others won't, and establishing the benchmark for others to emulate. Leadership is about the impact you make and the example you set for others to follow.
