The call for the 2024 Humans In Space (HIS) Challenge applications has finally opened! The 2024 HIS Challenge focuses on addressing the inevitable challenges of extending human presence in space and enhancing healthcare capabilities on Earth, reflecting leading space agencies and institutions' prioritized areas of innovation and research. This year's Challenge offers two Track-Funding Models to facilitate in-orbit experiments and support your research or technology development. Startups with space innovation ideas can receive $50K of equity investment, while startups and researchers with orbital experiment plans may receive up to $250K of orbital launch investments. The value of this orbital launch funding may go beyond $250K, depending on the experiment type and duration. Moreover, startup awardees can choose between the two tracks and those selected for Growth Stage I this year will receive incentives when applying for Growth Stage II in future HIS Challenges.
