The top 25 charity-owned mass participation events saw 16% growth in income compared to the previous year in 2023, according to the Massive Top 25 list. The four biggest events showed no change in ranking from the previous year: - Cancer Research UK (CRUK)'s 'Race for Life' - Macmillan Cancer Support's 'Coffee Morning' - Movember - Macmillan Cancer Support's 'Mighty Hike' series These events brought in £77M, which accounts for over half of all income generated by the Top 25 and represents 25% growth on 2022. However, overall Facebook and virtual challenge events dropped for a second year, with only five in the Top 25 for 2023. Income from virtual challenges fell by 13% overall, while social and in-person events grew by 21% and 16% respectively. Breast Cancer Now’s 'Afternoon Tea' was the fasted growing event in 2023, raising £1.42M with a 66% growth in income. Other fast growers were Macmillan Cancer Support's 'Sober October' (53% growth) and The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity's 'Marsden March' (50% growth). An Opportunity Of A Lifetime, To Make A Huge Impact! Cancer, with its unpredictable nature, can swiftly turn lives upside down. It doesn't discriminate; it affects individuals from all walks of life, often leaving devastation in its wake. But amidst the challenges, there lies hope—the hope of breakthroughs, advancements, and ultimately, a cure. In 2024, I've set my sights high, aiming not just to meet but to exceed my fundraising goal of $500k for LLS research. This isn't merely about numbers; it's about fueling the pursuit of answers to the questions surrounding cancer—the 'whys,' 'whats,' 'wheres,' and 'hows.' It's about empowering researchers to delve deeper, to innovate, and to make strides toward eradicating this disease once and for all. But here's the truth: I can't do this alone. That's why I'm extending an invitation—an invitation to you, to be a part of something truly impactful. By becoming a sponsor of my LLS campaign, you're not just offering financial support; you're aligning your brand with a cause that touches countless lives. From half-table to full-table sponsorships, each option comes with additional marketing benefits, ensuring your contribution is recognized and appreciated. And the reach of this campaign extends far beyond geographical boundaries. Already, supporters from across the nation—from Arizona, New York, Chicago, and beyond—are stepping up to the plate, demonstrating that distance is no obstacle when it comes to fighting for a cause as vital as this. If you're ready to make a tangible difference and join us on June 8th at The Anthem in DC for an unforgettable evening, I urge you to reach out. Let's come together, not just for an event, but for a purpose—a purpose that has the power to change lives and shape futures. Together, let's beat cancer! #sponsorship #bettertogether #cancerawareness #needyoursupport #charity #LLS Emily Brownlow Ria Freydberg Sasha Rocke Prasit Shah Franzuha Byrd Peggy Zabakolas, Esq #bloodcancerawareness #visionaryoftheyear #2024

#Frocktober2023 is just around the corner and your workplace can get involved by making Casual Friday frocking fabulous, hosting a good old bake sale, or even having an office Frock-off. Make it your own, create a platform for important conversations about ovarian cancer and raise funds for vital research. Need some convincing? Here’s three key reasons to frock up and raise funds this October: 1️⃣ Ovarian cancer research has been historically underfunded, leaving the average five-year survival rate at just 49% 2️⃣ Ovarian cancer is complex: it is not just one disease. As a result, researchers need more funding and time in the lab to understand how each subtype of the disease behaves and responds to treatments. 3️⃣ We’re making BIG progress, but we need to keep researchers in the field. By joining campaigns like Frocktober, you can help the OCRF provide sustainable, reliable funding for ovarian cancer researchers, keeping them in the lab where they can make a difference. Learn more about how you can get involved here: https://bitly.ws/Vh8F

🤝 Office Choice Partners with Love Your Sister Foundation for Sam's 1000! 🚴♂️ During the recent OPIx conference, one of the absolute highlights was Samuel Johnson's amazing Keynote Speech. His inspiring journey, dedication, and passion reminded us of the incredible impact individuals can have when they commit to a cause. We are thrilled to announce our national charity partnership with Love Your Sister Foundation as part of Sam's 1000. This partnership is a testament to our belief in the power of shared values. Love Your Sister's values, which encompass local community engagement, proactive action, resilience, and purpose, resonate deeply with our brand and the core principles that define our group: Commit, Collaborate, and Conquer. Sam's words echo loudly: "Australia can't wait anymore. Too many cancer patients are being left behind." He envisions Precision Medicine for all, and we believe it's possible. It's an immense undertaking, but with collective action, we can conquer it. "Together, we can end cancer now." Here's why this partnership is so meaningful: 1️⃣ Inspiring Leadership: Sam Johnson's keynote speech at OPIx was a powerful reminder of the importance of never giving up in the face of adversity. His story resonated with all of us, and it's a privilege to join forces with the Love Your Sister Foundation to support their mission. 2️⃣ Community Connection: Office Choice is deeply embedded in the same communities that Love Your Sister supports. We understand the unique challenges faced by rural, regional, and remote areas, and we're proud to contribute to a cause that envisions precision medicine to be available to all cancer patients in those areas. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most. 3️⃣ Unite Against Cancer: We rallied not only our Office Choice members but also our valued suppliers who attended OPIx to join us in the fight against cancer. As part of Sam's 1000, we're committed to raising awareness, funds, and support to conquer cancer once and for all. Together, as a united front, we can achieve extraordinary things. Stay tuned for updates on our journey alongside Love Your Sister to make a lasting impact on the lives of individuals and communities affected by cancer. Trigger warning: Post about Stage 4 Cancer Yesterday marked 1 year since I heard the words 'The cancer is back'. 4 words that felt like a weight so unbearable, that in that moment, I didn't know how I would tackle another day, let alone be here, reflecting on the past year. But I am here, 1 year on, having spent the year working on how to navigate this new challenge. A challenge that feels so incredibly unfair after already having worked so hard to overcome so many challenges in the 37 years I've been on this earth, but a challenge I have no other option but to face. As I reflect on the past 12 months, I feel proud that not only am managing (just about) both the physical and mental impacts of Stage 4 cancer but I am continuing to work full time in a role that I know is making a difference. Working as a Relationship manager for Cancer Research UK (CRUK) in Wales, I have had the opportunity to work with some incredible people who are raising money and awareness to help support life-saving research. A key highlight of 2023 was working with the amazing Business Beats Cancer Cymru board on their inaugural event that saw them raise over £50,000 for research happening in Wales. An extremely proud moment. I am grateful for the support I have received from our incredible volunteers, fundraisers and my employer, Cancer Research UK (CRUK) who have allowed me time, flexibility and understanding over the past year. I could not have got through the past year without this much needed support. I look to the year ahead with hope that we will continue to fund incredible research projects in Wales and across the UK, that will see more people live longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer. We have achieved so much over the past 40 years but there is still so much more we must do. Please do reach out to me, if you want to help make a difference. I know by working together we can do even more amazing things to help those affected by cancer. So how did I mark my 1 year Stage 4 'Cancerversary'? With cake of course! Something I may have to make an annual tradition 🍰 Here's to 1 year and hopefully many more to come! 💜 #cancerresearchuk #1year #fundraising #cancerresearch #makingadifferencetogether #fundraisinginwales #charitypartnership #corporatefundraising #wales

Motivational Speaker On Sharing Our Cancer Stories & Invisible Illnesses | Best-Selling Author | Host, Showing Up: Perspectives On Cancer | Leukemia Survivor
I've spent a lot of time over the last two years focusing on helping cancer patients, survivors and supporters through the Showing Up: Perspectives On Cancer show, book and in-person events. And will continue to do so. So many of you have showed up as attendees, sponsors or donors for the In-Person Event recently, and I'm so grateful. I thought I'd spend some time explaining what I do for a living (since I have rarely posted about it lately on social media) and how that might help you - I'm the founder of Sohn Social Media Solutions, which I started a little over 10 years ago. I started my business so I could have flexibility with my schedule to be there for my family. I'm looking to help entrepreneurs, brands or nonprofits that make a positive difference in the world and want to amplify that message, tell their story and/or raise money through building community. I can help in a few ways: 1. JUST SHOW UP: Livestreaming is an amazing way to connect with your target client, member, event attendee, donor, sponsor, etc... I will work with you to develop a show or virtual event, and/or produce your show or event for you. Basically, that means you show up and have great conversations, and I handle all the behind the scenes, bringing Comments on screen, guests on screen, any recorded videos, graphics etc... 2. WANT TO RAISE MONEY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE? Online fundraising consulting: In 2022, I hosted a 24-hour livestream fundraiser called Open Your Hearts & Wallets for Blood Cancers as well as a 12-hour one that raised $8K and provided hours and hours of cancer awareness. I will help you do something similar, too. You can then use this video content to create many additional social media posts, sending people back to your donation link. 3. FOCUS ON YOUR BUSINESS: Social media content creation & strategy: Do you want to focus on your business or nonprofit and you just don't have enough time to keep your business visible on social media? I'll work with you to create a social media plan and then execute it, so you can focus on the day to day in your business. Let's have a 30-minute complimentary conversation to see how we might work together. Send me a direct message, and let's explore the possibilities together. Happy Tuesday! Time to make some coffee ... #socialmediamarketing #livestreaming #livestreamproducing #fundraising #onlinefundraising

As many of you are aware, I’ve been involved with Cycle for Survival, the official rare cancer fundraising program of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), for a number of years. Cycle for Survival is a team stationary-cycling event in which 100% of the money raised goes to rare cancer research at MSK - with over $340 million raised to date. As a team, riders participate relay-style on stationary bikes over the course of the four-hour event. The atmosphere is energizing, inspiring, and a lot of fun. There is no fee to participate, and no previous cycling experience is necessary. I have been participating for 14 years and it’s one of my favorite annual events. While my participation with TeamRobb has been on the individual level, Cycle for Survival has strongly established itself as a leader in employee engagement for companies across the nation. Last season, more than 400 companies participated. Here is a quick video on the corporate experience: https://lnkd.in/e4hj4nXh. Of note, there are rides taking place in New York City in February and March, along with 12 other locations across the U.S., and virtually. You can view the full event schedule here: https://lnkd.in/eJpJhWpX. These events offer a great way to unite employees in one office, or offices nationwide. Would your organization consider creating a team for your employees to participate? If so, I will happily connect you with the Cycle for Survival team. It’s the perfect time to get going, too. If you register your team next week (between January 8-12), you’ll receive a $500 boost to kickstart your fundraising, simply by signing up to join the movement to beat rare cancers. Let me know. Thanks for the consideration!
