The Prevention, Early Intervention and Safeguarding Team, are excited to announce the following new roles: ⭐️ Lead Community Safety Officer – This role will be varied in nature, and every day and week will be different. You will be part of an operational response service and will bring opportunities to help the public and vulnerable people in many ways, while providing direct supervision and guidance to the Community Safety Officer’s. ⭐️ Community Safety Officer - The role involves working directly with the public and other organisations including community groups, to deliver interventions that help to prevent people from being seriously hurt or killed on our roads, in our waters or due on to a fire in their home. You will also support with reducing the impact to communities of large-scale harm due to environmental events (eg wildfires). ⭐️ Youth and Schools Engagement Manager – This is a crucial role in helping the service to provide early intervention and education for vulnerable young people across North Yorkshire and City of York. You will coordinate and safely manage our youth courses and interventions across the service, and work with partners to ensure we are providing the right interventions to the right young people, that delivers the right results for them. ⭐️ Partnerships Manager – Involves co-ordinating and administrating partnership work and collaborative activity, within public, private, and voluntary sectors. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining a wide range of partnership relationships with a diverse variety of organisations including charities. Endorsing SAFER grants Our first responders are dedicated professionals. To ensure their readiness and effectiveness, we can help by backing the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Grants (SAFER). How do they help? SAFER grants can enhance fire and emergency departments by reducing response times, investing in training, and addressing recruitment challenges. On September 22, 2021 a vote in Hillsborough county passed to accept a SAFER grant which helped fund the recruitment of 47 firefighters. For a growing county like Hillsborough this can lead to quicker response times, improving overall emergency services. Investing into the community SAFER grants play a vital role in recruiting and retaining talented individuals for our departments. The data unequivocally shows that well-supported first responders significantly enhance community safety and resilience. Investing in SAFER grants is crucial for the well-being and effectiveness of both our first responders and the communities they serve. The original grant period for performance concludes on February 26th, 2025. We can continue to endorse future SAFER grants as an investment in the well-being and effectiveness of our first responders. #hillsboroughcounty #polkcounty #pascocounty
