Saw these "Minimum Qualifications" for an Associate Editor position. There's a couple of degrees between "High school diploma" and "Graduate level experience" (just sayin' 🤷♀️) #jobdescription #jobrequirements #jobpostings #publishingjobs

Important shoes need filling …
The War Horse News is searching for our next managing editor. After nearly four years, Kelly Kennedy will be transitioning to being a full-time author. I'm incredibly proud of what we've accomplished together, have learned so much from her, and look forward to seeing what she accomplishes next. During our time together, Kelly oversaw reporting that won two Murrow Awards and the RFK Human Rights Journalism Award, doubled our audience size, and helped us welcome our first two full-time reporters. My favorite memory is watching her interview the Secretary of VA at our inaugural War Horse Symposium last year. Thank you for everything, Kelly. Our next ME has big shoes to fill — this is an incredible opportunity to lead an ambitious newsroom team with a track record of impact and year-over-year growth within a declining industry. The remote position will pay $127,800 and includes a range of benefits. Learn more at the link below.

There is so much inside your organisation that's interesting to the wider world. Hiring an editor-at-large is like having a can opener on a desert island and discovering a shipping container of tinned sardines. We immerse ourselves in the organisation, familiarise ourselves with your customers (both external, and internal) and their needs - and cast our magic wands to bring everything and everyone together through captivating and compelling stories. I cannot overstate the value for businesses brave to this opportunity. There's no better time to transform your customer communications into a profit centre. And there's no one better to advise how it's done than the guy who just typed the last letter of this post.

Communication is about more than media relations...
Senior Communications Executive | Communications | Media Relations | Crisis Management | Government Relations
There are 6 PR pros for every 1 reporter! This story or one like it crops up every now and then causing anxiety for those of us in the business of communication and public relations. Add the fear of AI to the mix and it can create sleepless nights for some. But here's the catch...while the media is important, #communication is about more than media relations. When I was the head of public affairs for U.S. Department of Labor, there were 78 people in that office. Only about five regularly interacted with the media. Others were writers, graphic designers, video editors, TV and radio experts, speechwriters, photographers, digital specialists, and the list goes on. One more time for those in the back: Communication is about more than #MediaRelations. #CorporateCommunications #PublicRelations
