How is everyone finding the market at the moment? I have spoken to numerous candidates who feel that the job market is picking up but freelance is very slow and it's competitive out there. I have spoken to clients who say they are more steady now but they are watching their recruitment spend and hope to hire more before the end of the year. Anyone have any thoughts? I would love to hear people's opinion on this. #jobmarket #thoughts #insight

Hiring a freelancer requires almost the same amount of consideration as finding in-house talent. Doing so provides business owners and team managers to fully assess whether an independent worker is the right fit for their team. Here's how to choose the right freelancer for your business. https://lnkd.in/eB7krXaV

People hire PEOPLE; not resumes. If your bio is purely informative, no-one will know (or care about) you as a person. This matters because people hire freelancers who they know, like, and trust. There's plenty of evidence for this: ✅ Referrals are the #1 way companies find new freelancers. ✅ Companies like to hire the same (great) people, on repeat. ✅ Reputation always precedes talent/skill/knowledge/ability. So, make sure you have a personal brand at the centre of everything you do. And bring through your personality traits, unique experience (through stories), and preferences to your bio. This is one of the keys to success as a freelancer. ------------- Prospology helps ambitious medical professionals turn their love of writing ✍🏼 and science 🧬 into a profitable writing business so they can enjoy the freedom 🦋 and flexibility 🙃 they crave.

Something weird, funny, and awfully unbelievable happened to me this week. 😒 As I am open to work, it's an invitation for recruiters to send me a work request. A recruiter approached me with a writing opportunity. I immediately responded, but the next thing she asked me for was quite unbelievable. While reading her messages, I doubted my sanity at that moment. 👽 She asked me to take a test for evaluation, which I was absolutely ready and cool to go for! Now, what I am about to tell you might be hard to digest for you as well. She asked me to complete 3 blogs, each consisting of 850 words. Worst of all, the whole thing was unpaid. 🤦🏻♀️ And after evaluation, if a so-called agency finds me suitable, they'll get back to me! It took me a few minutes to understand that she was serious, and this led me to think.. How could someone have this audacity to disrespect the time and efforts of a writer? It is so easy to scam freelancers looking for a stable job to level up? 💭 Of course, I declined the offer and had a good laugh about it, but the whole situation made me doubt sloppy hiring standards. Why❓ - Subjective hiring standards - Unrealistic expectations lead to doubt about the fairness of the hiring process. - Absence of a standardized evaluation process - Overemphasis on tests and trials that may not be accurate representations of overall abilities and experience. If you are looking for the right opportunity at the moment, like me, hang in there and don't let anyone take advantage of your current situation. 💯 You'll be there where you are meant to be! Let 2024 be louder, clearer, and very special to your heart! 💥👑 HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🌈 Comment below to share your stories.

🚀 Tired high recruitment costs? I feel you! In my traditional recruitment days, the "you're too expensive" objection was like a broken record on every call. 🔄 🌐 I don´t blame them, traditional recruitment agencies often have sky-high costs due to their massive sales teams. Please stop normalizing ghosting in the hiring process. Once you've spoken to a candidate, you have made a human connection. You've invited that person to trust you. Treat them with respect. If they're no longer being considered for a role, call or send a quick follow-up email to let them know to move on. Bad news is better than no news. In a world of machine-driven ATS, mass layoffs and a rising cost of living, be a light. Even if you use AI to craft your rejection, initiating an email comes from a place of compassion. That's our superpower as humans. Use it. :)
I spoke to 9 recruiters in March who offered me freelance projects. I took the time to listen to each of them. But not a single recruiter had the courtesy to get back to me. My time and energy went to waste. I lost 9 hours that I could have spent doing something more productive. People need to learn that time is valuable. So is feedback. Let's create a more respectful workplace culture where time is one of the most valuable resources! #humanresources #careers #jobsearch #jobseekers #deliacaluser

AI can significantly simplify the process of matching candidate with the right project or a job. With its ability to quickly and accurately analyse individuals' backgrounds and experience in different industries and business areas, it has potential to match candidates to positions much more accurately. I firmly believe that traditional job portals, which require candidates to actively search for a job, are likely to lose relevance in the coming years. Instead, the trend will shift towards job portals that proactively match job seekers with suitable positions, streamlining the recruitment process without (or with limited) recruiters support. #hrtechnology #freelancers #hiring #ai

When "Following Instructions" Isn't Enough! As freelancers, we've all had our fair share of challenging clients, but this recent experience is quite frustrating! I was excited to tackle a paid sample for a client who assured me that my work would be accepted if I followed every instruction. I followed the instructions precisely and wrote something I was hopeful about. However, the feedback I received was quite a surprise. Despite my careful attention to detail, the response was, "The team has denied it. Can you make it more humorous and resubmit?" Determined to understand what went wrong, I checked again but could not find anything to change. So I delved into her hiring history and discovered a startling pattern: she was interviewing 18 more individuals and not hiring even a single one! I kept waiting for her response for about a week, checked again and still, she hadn't hired even a single person. I have Only a few Words to Say! WHY? WHAT ARE YOUR STANDARDS? Agr Hire hi nhi krna hota to time waste q? To all my fellow freelancers out there, what would you do in this situation? How do you handle clients with constantly changing requirements? This situation reminded me that sometimes, even our best efforts might not align with a client's elusive expectations. But Time is valuable Yes??? I always value my time and efforts. But I feel like sometimes, the best decision is to walk away and invest your energy in clients who truly appreciate your work. 🙄 My Script is added at the end of this PDF! A great article that outlines much of our focus of the last two years - working with companies not to simply connect them with specialists but also making sure that the whole approach to freelance is strategic. Many of the strategies that have proven to be the most successful begin with recognizing freelance and contract management needs purpose and needs full differentiation from traditional hiring practices. https://lnkd.in/eukgbg6H
