In today's rapidly evolving world, the landscape of political campaigning has transformed dramatically. The days of relying solely on door knocking, yard signs, and town hall meetings are long gone. While these traditional methods still hold value, they must be married with a robust digital strategy to make a real impact. A campaign that successfully integrates these two elements is unstoppable. Overton Solutions exists to help you achieve this balance. By connecting traditional on-the-ground campaigning with modern digital strategies, we ensure your message resonates, your supporters are mobilised, and your campaign leaves a lasting impact. In politics, as in life, it's all about balance. And in the modern age, that balance lies in the harmonious marriage of on-the-ground and digital campaigning. The City of Alexandria, Virginia, a close-in suburb of #WashingtonDC founded in the Colonial era, had a problem. A tremendous number of streets had been renamed for Confederate figures during the mid-20th century. It was a protest by racist white leaders of the time against the desegregation efforts that were ramping up throughout the country. After an attempt to rely on citizen outreach to change the names foundered, the city needed a better way to get rid of these embarrassing and painful street names. So the mayor, Justin Wilson, proposed to council that they simply budget a few name changes each year into the budget, thus making the process more automatic. Council liked the idea. Essentially, the leadership of the city has chosen to actually lead. This is what it takes to change #cities. Relying on public outreach and input to drive a process is how paralysis sets in, which will ultimately wither a city. Don’t believe bold leadership matters? Look to #Paris, where the mayor, Anne Hidalgo, is the primary force behind its massive and— despite griping from some suburban commuters— popular shift away from car dependence. Or, check out #Groningen, a northern Dutch city, where a young alderman named Max van den Berg made the city famous in #urbanplanning circles by pioneering filtered permeability to keep cars from cutting through the urban center. These leaders chose to lead, rather than stick their fingers in the air to check which way the wind was blowing. So, kudos to Justin and the council for choosing to lead. #leadership #transportation #government #racism #history #AlexandriaVa

Politics is not always the best arena to build relationships with the other side, but we want to change that. Because the greatest part of this job is the people, regardless of their political views. And we all succeed when we work together. Thanks to my team Mickey (Mikayla) McClanahan, Will Gerhardt, Gavin Campbell, and Tyler Clifton for always building bridges. https://lnkd.in/g2vYdxxB #politics #people #teamwork #teambuilding #cincinnati #bipartisanship Pavan V. Managing Partner @ Shikamo | African Political Campaigns Expert - Host & Convenor International Political Campaign Expo
One fascinating question I always ask politicians in our first interaction before committing to work with them is, "Why are you contesting for this office?" The answers to this question shape the purpose, vision, and values that guide the success or failure of a political campaign. Three common responses dominate: - I want to serve. - People asked me to do it. - I want to give back. Understanding a politician's motivation for seeking office is crucial in assessing their commitment to serving the community effectively. #Politics #PolCampaign #Purpose
