Do you recall my post after the I AM meet where I talked about the power of sound 🎧in #advertisement? Well, I recently encountered a brand that has 🤹🏽 masterfully put this concept to work in their latest brand film. I came across their 15-second video. No elaborate conversations 🚫, just two individuals (or three if you include the waiter), set against an uncomplicated backdrop. The standout feature? 🎶 The music. It builds anticipation and serves as the backdrop for a captivating story of two strangers meeting at a bar. This prompted me to consider a 🤔question: What is the ideal length for an advertisement? How much time is sufficient to convey your brand's essence? Despite the full film stretching out to a remarkable 7 minutes, Moët Hennessy seems to have nailed it within these 15 seconds! Within that brief duration, they effectively conveyed 💬.the message, "Every drop of Hennessy is an Odyssey" – referring to an adventurous journey. The journey in this context is the interaction between these two people, with Hennessy acting as the bridge. Personally, I believe that if your story, message, and all the important elements are strong, the length isn't the main concern – whether it's 15 seconds, 7 minutes or longer. Introducing the new model to getting films and TV shows made, "Brand Finance". . . This is Timmy and Marty for Chanel. Brands are starting to make more content, especially longer / long form content. They are rapidly positioning themselves to become the new studios. The Barbie movie is the biggest, and so far, best case study example of this. As the head of global brand finance for film and TV, I can confirm that many more projects and brands are following suit. Private equity is far and in between these days, and although global co-productions certainly come with their perks that the U.S. doesn't offer - it is still not enough to provide budgets needed for bigger projects. Brands can do that much more sustainably than other companies, and in a way that puts them in immediate win-win situations from multiple sides. They can monetize ROIs on their own IP (which already has an embedded audience / customers), content, talent partnerships, and much more. For them, the most important words are "brand value and authenticity" - and beyond that it's pretty fair game, of course depending on the story, talent, and filmmakers attached. So memorize the term "brand finance", for it will become every storyteller and producer's best friend in the very near future. And as far as reactions go to this short film that was released yesterday, the fans are now eagerly asking for a Marty and Timmy official film collaboration. Very interesting toughts about the film industry in general and about AI in particular. I do not have enough information about that strike in the US to understand all aspects but I'm convinced it's necessary to think about AI and human respective roles/ positions in our future civilisations. Hopefully they will find an agreement soon to end the strike and they'll find a way to reopen the discussions about AI when necessary and on a regular basis. In this case, entertainment industry paves the way for all industries.
