Check out a little teaser of what we’re working on!
What’s in the box? I’m not ready to say, but it’s part of a project I’m working on to develop a commercially available colony dog trap. The trap will have both an optical and a remote controlled trigger, will be very robust, and use exceptionally little electricity. This is just a teaser to start getting you excited about the prospects of a mostly ready-made colony or trap-resistant dog trap. Once the initial design work is done, I’ll be sharing a survey to gauge interest and will start taking pre-orders. Exciting things lay ahead! #humaneinnovations Humane Innovations www.humaneinnovations.com

So I’m putting this out there in an effort to both help raise some awareness as well as to find additional alignment within my network: There’s a battle raging in Idaho currently that’s life and death for Wolves. They were reintroduced to the Lower 48 in 1995 and they currently have numbers estimated around 2000 in the state in the northern Rockies. There’s a wilderness area in northern Idaho that’s home to roughly 5 packs that’s also coincidentally Tribal Land where there’s currently an open-kill contract on all non-collared animals, that the Idaho Fish & Game Commission is running. There are bounties on their heads up to $2000 per animal, and they can be hunted using ‘any means necessary’ including night hunting, night vision, searchlight, trapping, etc. (this isn't the case for any other mammals) The wolves are in a deconflicted area. They have Elk as their natural food source and zero livestock in their territory. Additionally, the state of Colorado has requested them as part of our reintroduction programme, and Idaho has responded with: 'we would rather kill them than let you have them'. Watch This: https://lnkd.in/gNxQuNUX I’m looking for help. There’s a narrative here that’s galvanizing for some reason. Nature doesn’t ‘need to be managed’… humans need to be managed in the way they interface with the natural world. Period. Wolves are a critical component in the natural ecosystem in North America. They are indigenous and they’re here for a reason. Humans need to learn to coexist. I’m in this fight to spread awareness, verifiable data, information and facts. Good read here with verifiable data: https://lnkd.in/gWzydsES. Critical Points: 1. Wolves have not destroyed the elk in Idaho. 2. Since wolves have been around in Idaho, elk have actually increased. 3. Wolves are not responsible for the decline in the Lolo elk. 4. Elk were not historically plentiful in the Lolo zone, but wolves were. 5. Wolves have not destroyed hunting opportunities in Idaho. 6. Hunting opportunities in the Lolo Zone have declined. 7. Before wolves were reintroduced, historic populations of ungulates were NOT higher. 8. For elk, 7/11 management zones in Idaho are above target. 9. The decline of elk in a couple of management zones should not be the rallying cry for the eradication of an entire native species of animal that was 1) there first and 2) not responsible for absolutely destroying the elk. 🐺Suzanne Asha Stone The New York Times Another HQ watch here: https://lnkd.in/gwVgSjps https://lnkd.in/gNxQuNUX

Would you like to witness the incredible sight of a wasp gathering nest material in action? Today, I had the chance to see a video that showcases the unique behavior of a worker from the bald-faced hornet's wasp species. Believe it or not, this wasp was caught on camera chewing on fence posts. This unexpected activity can lead to damage beyond their usual behaviors. It's a fascinating example of how insects can surprise us with their interactions with the environment. Have you ever come across similar instances or have insights to share? Let's chat and exchange thoughts in the comments below! #BaldfacedHornet #WoodChewingBehavior #UnusualInteractions #NatureDiscovery
