Yesterday was International Women in Engineering Day, and here at LVI Associates we support trailblazing women in the industry, from Asia to America and everywhere in between. As Director of LVI Associates APAC, Kayleigh Regan is the perfect person to share her insights on how we are making a positive difference in the energy and infrastructure industry: "Across the APAC region, we are spending more time speaking with companies on how they can best attract more diversity into their company, and more specifically how they can hire and retain more female engineers. Some of the positive changes we have helped companies make is the flexibility for working mums on picking up/dropping off their children, how they write their job adverts (being gender neutral instead of saying ‘his experience’) and encouraging more family initiatives such as family fun days." Happy International Women in Engineering Day to everyone! I feel very proud to work in a business where I can directly influence diversity in engineering firms workforce, and in my 8-9 years of recruitment life I can safely say that I have seen a positive change in gender diversity across the Renewable Energy and Infrastructure industries. However, with only 13-14% of the global engineering force being female, we are not quite there yet! With more females taking leadership positions, it will encourage more female engineers to join and stay in the industry, and even more females to choose to study STEM subjects in the first place, so let's keep promoting this together! With diversity comes new perspectives which can yield better results 💪 #womeninengineering #genderdiversity

Celebrating International Women in Engineering Day 2024! We are celebrating the achievements and contributions of women in the engineering industry 🙌🏻. This year's theme, "Enhanced by Engineering," resonates deeply with our commitment to diversity, innovation, and excellence in our industry. At Redrawn, we recognize the invaluable impact of female engineers who continuously drive progress and inspire future generations. We proudly have 58% female employees and 50% women in management. Tomorrow morning, Redrawn will have a bold presence at Engineers Australia’s International Women in Engineering Day breakfast run by the Women in Engineering South Australia Chapter of Engineers Australia. Our very own Huw Dent is a panellist and Eliza Watt will be facilitating the panel discussion. The discussion will consider the 2024 theme through the lens of recruitment: Can Your Workforce be Enhanced by Engineering your Recruitment? They will delve into some big questions: ▫️Are women just not ‘programmed’ to be engineers? Or, ▫️Are companies not doing enough encourage and support gender diversity? ▫️Is changing company recruitment policies the only way forward? Or, ▫️Does it cause more harm than good? We look forward to the lively discussion! #INWED #INWED2024 #WomenInEngineering #DiversityInTech #STEM #EngineeringExcellence #Innovation #GenderEquality #EngineeringCommunity

Recruitment Manager for Energy Transition | Senior, Niche and Critical Hires | Battery Technology - Carbon Capture - SAF - eFuels - Hydrogen - Bioenergy - Energy from Waste | UK and Europe
♀️ Women make up only 28% of the workforce in science and engineering occupations. This is a significant loss of talent, and it's holding our industry back ♀️ #GenderDiversity is essential for the success of any engineering team. A study by McKinsey found that companies with more diverse leadership teams are more likely to financially outperform their peers. This is likely due to the fact that diverse teams bring a wider range of perspectives and experiences to the table, which can lead to more innovative and effective solutions. At NES Fircroft, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to succeed in engineering. We're committed to supporting gender diversity in our own workplace and in the industry as a whole. We've already helped multiple players in the #EnergyTransition space address their gender diversity problems, and we're well-placed to support your company achieve similar successes. If you're looking to improve the gender diversity of your engineering team, here are a few things you can do: ✅ Make a commitment to diversity at the highest levels of your organisation ✅ Set clear goals for increasing the number of women in your engineering workforce ✅ Create a culture where everyone feels welcome and respected ✅ Provide opportunities for women to develop their skills and advance their careers ✅ Partner with organisations that are working to promote gender diversity in STEM Together, we can create a more inclusive and equitable engineering profession 🌍 For tailored support on how we can support you with your gender diversity, please get in touch with me directly at harry.fitzwilliam-pipe@nesfircroft.com #engineering #womeninengineering #womeninstem

To mark International Women in Engineering Day, see our Director General, Damien Owens, article on the importance of encouraging more women to participate in engineering, featured in Friday’s Irish Independent According to a recent study, carried out by Ipsos B&A on behalf of Engineers Ireland 39% of women say they do not view engineering as a suitable career, compared to just 29% of men. Similarly, over a third of women respondents said they would not consider the profession if starting a career or pursuing a career change. We can and must forge a path that encourages more women into our industry. On this special day, let's recognise the importance of diversity in engineering and commit to supporting and empowering women in this vital field. #INWED #WomenInEngineering #DiversityInSTEM #EngineeringExcellence #WomenInTech #STEM

In today's rapidly evolving tech industry, the demand for skilled engineers continues to soar. However, gender parity remains a pressing issue, particularly within the field of engineering. It's crucial for us as a community to actively work towards empowering and supporting female engineers, creating a more inclusive and diverse workforce. By providing equal opportunities and resources, we can tap into the immense talent and fresh perspectives that women bring to the table. 👩💻✨ As a recruiter, I've had the privilege of discussing the incredible contributions that female engineers make to engineering firms. I firmly believe that by championing and nurturing their talents, we not only bridge the gender gap but also cultivate a more innovative and successful engineering landscape. 💪🏽🔬 Let's continue to advocate for and support female engineers, paving the way for a more equitable and inclusive future. Together, we can elevate the voices and aspirations of women in engineering and create a more balanced and thriving workplace. #WomenInSTEM #GenderParity #DiversityInTech 🌐

Reflecting on International Women’s Day, I'm reminded of a powerful quote when recruiting women into male-dominated fields like engineering: "If you build it, they will come" - Field of Dreams. Throughout my journey in education and career, the challenge has often been not just recruiting but retaining women in these industries. From my perspective, the root of this issue lies in the lack of representation and the prevailing notion that women don’t belong in such environments. Many women feel they lack the experience or are simply not capable of thriving in these spaces. As advocates, it's crucial to actively counter this narrative by championing and empowering other capable women. In my own role, I've had the privilege of doing just that—hiring, seeking their perspectives, and advocating for their advancement. It's been immensely rewarding to witness our department evolve from just me as the first women in engineering at Highline Warren to now having six. This journey reaffirms the power of proactive support and mentorship in fostering diversity and inclusion. Remember, "If you build it, they will come." Let's continue building spaces where all talented individuals, regardless of gender, can thrive and contribute their unique perspectives. Happy International Women’s Day! 🚀 #IWD #WomeninSTEM #DiversityandInclusion #womeninautocare #womeninengineering

The call for more women in engineering is becoming louder by the day. Women have always played a major role in shaping society but for far too long have been side-lined in fields such as engineering. In order to address this imbalance, companies need to recognize the vast potential that female engineers bring to the table and invest more heavily in bringing more women into the field. Companies should strive to create workplaces where everyone, regardless of gender, feel welcome, respected and supported in their chosen career path. #WomenInEngineering #STEMCareers #FemaleEmpowerment

Today is International Women in Engineering Day, and we want to recognize the amazing work that women engineers around the world are doing to support lives and livelihoods every day. This year’s theme, #EnhancedByEngineering, highlights how engineering enriches our lives and underscores the importance of diversity in driving innovation. 🚀 Gender diversity is crucial to us at Continental Industry . Our goal is to increase the proportion of women in top management to 25% by 2025. We have already increased this figure to around 20% in 2023! 🙌 We also raise the visibility of our female talents and promote their global networking through mentoring programs, women's networks, and events such as Women@Work. Let's come together to support each other, promote participation, and encourage collaboration. Here are some things you can do to create inclusive workplaces and build gender-mixed teams: 💼 Create a female-friendly working environment: inclusive and supportive corporate culture, fair pay, representative leadership positions, mentoring programs, and bias awareness training. 🎓 Attract women to engineering careers: early educational integration, success stories, scholarships, and partnerships with schools and universities. ⚖️ Gender equality in pay: increasing the quota of women in entry-level positions and promoting them to management positions. 👨👩👧👦 Support work-life balance with flexible working models. Would you like to find out more about our female power in engineering? Then follow us and look forward to next week! #WeMoveTheWorld #INWED24
