If you're not addressing the inclusion needs of all identities, and the whole person, in your inclusion efforts...then who have you decided isn't important enough to include? If the #inclusion needs of even just one identity are left out, then you have a problem. I have the solution to operationalize #intersectionality and address the inclusion needs of all people (at the same time) so everyone can thrive. Would you like me to send you the open-access research papers for you to take a look? Or of course, I'm happy to help. #discrimination #inclusion #DEIB

I am super excited to share a publication I authored with the Trevor Project's research team, especially because it's on a topic I am passionate about: Justice Involvement and Mental Health in LGBTQ+ Youth. Some highlights from the article: - Research shows elevated rates of justice involvement in LGBTQ+ youth in comparison to their cisgender and heterosexual peers. - Among LGBTQ+ youth, subgroups of LGBTQ+ youth are at higher risk for justice involvement than their peers. For example, Native American and houseless LGBTQ+ youth are at the greatest risk for justice involvement. - Justice involvement, whether recent or not recent, is associated with greater odds of attempting suicide in the past year in LGBTQ+ youth. - Systemic change is needed to reduce houselessness, justice involvement, and suicide in LGBTQ+ youth. Hoping this research can help inspire more research on this topic, as well as policy change to better protect LGBTQ+ youth from houselessness and justice involvement. Please share with whoever you think would benefit from reading. Thanks, friends!

Global DEI Thought Leader - Sr. Vice President Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Hyatt Corporation. Author "Diversity Done Right " Navigate me to coach differences in the workplace and beyond
"diversity done right " per order your copy today to learn more about how we can work together https://a.co/d/39eScyz Hate is rising. A passing glance at headlines in recent years shows a litany of harrowing incidents of antisemitism across the country. And in November, the FBI released data showing that this is part of a broader pattern that should alarm us all. In 2021, state law enforcement agencies reported 7,759 hate crimes, representing a 12-year spike at the time. Sadly, that trend has since worsened dramatically with 11,634 incidents reported in 2022. Alongside antisemitism, hate speech, harassment and violence against Black, Asian, Muslim, Arab, LGBTQ and other communities have infiltrated our community spaces, our public dialogue and our politics at an unprecedented rate. We all bear responsibility for combatting hate, and we can all make a difference. https://lnkd.in/grYvR99c

Dear London Community, Our city, known for its diversity and inclusivity, is facing a troubling rise in incidents targeting minorities. This goes against our core values and must be addressed. Recent data from the Mayor of London’s Office for Policing and Crime shows a significant increase in hate crimes. The UK Home Office reports a similar national trend. This alarming rise demands our collective response. This issue has hit close to home for me. Someone very dear to me, who is East Asian and part of the LGBTQ+ Community, has been targeted multiple times in 1 week, highlighting the urgent need for action to protect our multi-cultural community and all minorities. We must stand together against discrimination and hate. London’s strength lies in its diversity, and it is our responsibility to protect and celebrate it. Here’s how we can make a difference: - Support local initiatives like StopHate UK - Engage in dialogues to dispel myths and build understanding. - Advocate for policies that protect minority rights. - Protect victims of hate and stand up for them when you see an issue Let’s reaffirm our commitment to each other and ensure London remains a beacon of hope and unity. Together, we must fight discrimination and build a future of respect and understanding. Thank you for your attention, Albert #StopHate #Unity #Diversity #Inclusion #StandTogether #NoToHate #CelebrateDiversity #LondonTogether #EndDiscrimination #CommunityUnity

Excellent new #OutInLondon research by London TravelWatch shines a light on the safety and security of LGBTQ+ people travelling in/around London. We should all be able to move around the city freely and safely, but: - 66% of LGBTQ+ respondents reported experiencing at least one form of victimisation on public transport in the past 12 months - 82% of LGBTQ+ respondents modify their travelling behaviour due to safety concerns - Of those who modify their behaviour, 72% try hiding/disguising the fact that they are LGBTQ+ to protect themselves Full report, including 12 recommendations for the transport industry and policing authorities, here: https://lnkd.in/evG-STdh
