It all started with a conversation at last year's Smart Buildings Show and now it turned to reality. The Link Edge project we did with J2 Innovations - a Siemens Company has the potential to be a game-changer for System Integrators offering not just new revenue streams but a world of opportunities. And the best part? Buildings are going to feel the efficiency magic too...and hopefully our little planet too 🌎 Here's to dreams turned reality! 🥂 https://lnkd.in/dSgDk4QZ

This year’s Global Cleantech 100 by Cleantech Group shows a noticeable geographic shift in building energy efficiency optimisation from the US to Europe. The report also predicts that the trend will continue as digital solutions coupled with sensors will continue to remain attractive for investors and regulations for more energy-efficient buildings and high energy prices will show little signs of letting up. We in CQuel will do the best we can to get these technologies into as many commercial buildings as possible all across Europe.

I’m thrilled to share the next step in our partnership with @Helen: we have recently signed a three-year contract dedicated to advancing the digitalisation, optimisation, and decarbonisation of the Helsinki district heating grid. Looking ahead, Helen envisions a network autopilot that orchestrates the scheduling of heat and electricity production, the operation of the network, and the control of user systems. To make this vision a reality, Gradyent's Digital Twin Platform will play a crucial role by providing live temperature setpoints for main power plants, ensuring optimal network efficiency, and minimising heat losses, temperatures, and CO2 emissions. All of this will be achieved while maintaining the security of a sufficient heat supply for all Helen customers. It's inspiring to witness Helen's commitment to phasing out coal and embracing a range of low-carbon solutions. At Gradyent, we're proud to contribute to Helen's journey towards a more sustainable and resource-efficient future. https://lnkd.in/eWngaJGR #upgradingthegrid #Decarbonization #DigitalTwin #EnergyEfficiency #DistrictHeating

Many thanks to AEE | Ireland Chapter for asking Tom Ascough to speak (14-Sep) about how Symphony Energy have reduced HVAC Energy Consumption in Commercial Buildings by 70%. Their success comes from resolving 3 key challenges 1. The Performance Gap between Design Efficiency and Actual Efficiency 2. The puzzling, but increasing need for Winter Cooling 3. The IAQ need for more fresh air, not less See www.symphonyenergy.com for more information Tom and the other presenters at the https://aeeconference.ie/ demonstrated that there is a lot of innovation available already to make a huge dent in the planet’s targets for 2050. #netzerobuildings

There have been some great publications coming out of Strathclyde University's Connor McGarry - recent example being one which explores the role of energy demand reduction and flexibility measures in reducing demand on local grid pressures. Short summary is that joint planning for both brings the largest benefits - but flexibility such as V2G - could provide the larger share of what is possible. The nexus of travel demand and local area grid planning is really important. You can find out more from the DTE Network and by reading Connor's papers including https://lnkd.in/egXwhCuK
Electric vehicles can do more than just get us from place to place. They can also help address the need for energy storage as we move towards a decarbonised grid. Planned together, intelligent infrastructure and vehicle charging/storage systems will lower the costs for grid reinforcement and development.
