With extreme cold weather on the horizon, there are several things we need your help with to ensure smooth and efficient operation: Make sure to keep all trucks full of fuel Keep fuel treated, even if fueling in a warmer climate Keep plenty of additives in the truck to add to fuel tanks When parked, be sure to drain your air system and keep the block heater plugged in; if in a Volvo, plug into shore power; this will maintain/ charge the batteries. If below zero, keep your truck running or set opt idle / Idle Smart, especially if parking away from the terminal or repair service. Another thing to note when pulling off the road to park for the night is to release the trailer brakes. Warm trailer brakes can cause condensation in cold temperatures; when the brakes are set with condensation present, the brake lining can freeze to the drum as the lining cools overnight, keeping you from moving or resulting in flat spotted tires from dragging the trailer.
