When it comes to botanical identification, utilizing top analytical testing tools is essential for ensuring purity, authenticity, and consistency while safeguarding against adulteration. The TRU-ID testing program, previously employed in the dietary supplement industry for botanical ingredient identification, faced limitations, particularly with botanical extracts. Today, the TRU-ID program is no longer accessible for botanicals, with other analytical testing tools like NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance imaging) taking precedence. In my perspective, NMR stands out as a superior analytical tool for defending against adulteration compared to methods like HPTLC. NMR offers a comprehensive test method that identifies all molecules, providing quantitative results and ensuring consistency. At Fruit DโOr, as a grower, processor, and supplier, our commitment is to deliver the purest and highest quality from the field to the finished ingredient. We prioritize utilizing the best available analytical testing tools to safeguard the integrity of our Cranberry and Wild Blueberry ingredients, ensuring the safety of our customers and consumers.

[๐๐ช๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ก๐๐ข๐๐ฃ๐ฉ ๐๐ฅ๐ค๐ฉ๐ก๐๐๐๐ฉ] Chlorella for detoxification of mercury from fish and dental amalgams. โ โ Did you know that mercury levels in humans increase with ingestion of fish and from silver filling dental amalgams? โ Whether organic (methlmercury in fish), inorganic (in dental amalgams) or elemental (liquid mercury), all three kinds of mercury are harmful to the human body.โ โ How harmful depends on how much mercury you are exposed to, when you are exposed (during development in the womb vs childhood and beyond), and how good your body is at excreting mercury. โ โ Mercury excretion can be improved with specific supplements like chlorella. Chlorella is a micro-algae that has significant evidence for detoxification of heavy metals in animal studies; human studies are now being performed and showing promising results. โ โ A study by Merino et al, 2019 demonstrated that chlorella supplementation helped reduce mercury (and other heavy metals) burden in the body of individuals with mercury as a result of dental amalgams. Study participants with documented presence of mercury in the body received 90 days of chlorella supplementation in addition to adequate intake of amino acids from protein and polyphenols from plants. โ โ [See study on next slide & comments.]โ โ Amino acids and polyphenols help in the detoxification process of heavy metals. Therefore natural detoxification requires a whole-foods diet with adequate intake of protein and plants, and can be supported with supplements such as chlorella. The duration of supplementation in this study was 90 days, demonstrating that longer term efforts are required to assist the bodyโs natural detoxification process. โ โ You can find great quality chlorella supplements in my easy-to-access Fullscript protocol. โ I'm ingredient loyal, NOT brand loyal. Business development Fructo-oligosaccharide(FOS), Galacto-oligosaccharide(GOS), XOS, Isomalto-oligosaccharide(IMO), Resistant dextrin/Soluble fiber, Polydextrose, Allulose, Isomaltulose #reducedsugar #fiber#prebiotics
Xylooligosaccharides (XOS) acts as a prebiotic, from non-GMO corn cobs. As Hermann Bourgeois research published: "In adult dogs, a 0.08% XOS supplement induces a significant decrease in faecal concentrations of fermentation metabolites. These results support the notion that XOS supplementation positively influences the metabolism of amino acids reaching the colon, improving gut health as revealed by improved stool odour. The benefits of XOS have also been studied in cats. As cats ingest high protein diets that impact intestinal fermentation, modify the bacterial population and promote the formation of putrefactive compounds, prebiotics can be useful in limiting these effects. A recent clinical trial in healthy cats reveals that 0.4% XOS supplementation induces a change in the abundance and richness of beneficial bacteria with a beneficial modification of SCFA production and promotion of total antioxidant status. A super-prebiotic XOS are well tolerated without significant impact on palatability, food digestibility and faecal scoring. Acid- and heat-resistant, XOS resist process constraints and the relatively small dosage requirements allow inclusion in premix or palatability enhancers. Compared to the traditional prebiotics applied in pet food, XOS can be considered as one of the โsuper-prebioticsโ. There are many benefits and compound the advantages of various nutraceuticals (immune stimulants, antioxidants, chelated trace-elements, et cetera) without any impact on food intake and food tolerance. These transversal advantages allow a reduction in the ingredient list, minimise the risks of ingredient interaction and represent an excellent alternative for optimising the nutritional, technical and economic advantages of a recipe." An Overview of Bovine Colostrum as an Emerging Nutraceutical Supplement Bovine colostrum, which serves as the initial source of nourishment for cattle, is produced through the natural process of colostrogenesis. This process involves the secretion of colostrum from the mammary glands of mammals immediately following parturition. Colostrum plays a crucial role in the physiological processes of mammalian neonates, encompassing a range of functions such as conferring lifelong immunity, promoting gastrointestinal maturation, and strengthening resistance to infections. Effects of Prebiotic and Probiotic Supplementation on Meat Quality in Finishing Pigs Summary: - Fructooligosaccharides, including inulin, and dried Jerusalem artichoke tubers are investigated as prebiotics affecting bacterial flora, intestinal health, and metabolism in animals. - 144 crossbred pigs were divided into six groups and fed different diets during the grower and finisher periods. - Group I: Received standard (control) diets throughout the fattening period. - Group II: Received 20 g/kg of inulin in their diets. - Group III: Diets contained 40 g/kg of dried Jerusalem artichoke instead of maize starch. - Groups IV, V, and VI: Received probiotics (1 g/kg) in addition to the diets analogous to groups I, II, and III. - Meat quality parameters measured included proximate composition, pH, color, texture, shear force, water-holding capacity, sensory attributes, and thiobarbituric-acid-reactive substances (a measure of oxidative stability). - Normal post-mortem meat glycolysis and no meat defects were observed. - Prebiotic supplementation led to higher intramuscular fat levels, while probiotic supplementation resulted in lower fat content. - Meat from prebiotic groups exhibited lighter, less red, and more yellow color with a higher hue angle. - Both prebiotics improved antioxidant status and water-holding capacity, reduced shear force and hardness, but had no significant effect on sensory attributes. - Conclusion: Prebiotic supplementation of 20 g/kg inulin and 40 g/kg dried Jerusalem artichoke in the diet of finishing pigs improves the quality properties of meat and can be used as a feed additive. Key take away: - Prebiotics (inulin and dried Jerusalem artichoke) positively affect intramuscular fat and meat color. - Probiotics lead to lower intramuscular fat levels in meat. - Prebiotic supplementation improves antioxidant status and water-holding capacity of meat. - Prebiotics reduce shear force and hardness of meat. - Prebiotics and probiotics have no significant impact on sensory attributes of meat. - Prebiotic supplementation can be used as a beneficial feed additive for finishing pigs.
