How Do They Get The Cork In The Champagne Bottle ? You may be wondering how to get a cork with a larger diameter into the opening of a bottle with a much smaller diameter. The corks of champagne bottles are known for their elasticity and compressibility. Corks can be easily compressed at the cellular level when inserted into a bottle; as soon as they are pushed into place, they expand and form a tight seal.

New product: Vauen 3213 Smooth Bent Pear Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked, 9mm Vauen stems from Germany’s oldest tobacco pipe manufacturing company, tracing its roots back to the founding partnership of Karl Ellenberger and Carl August Ziener in Nuremberg, 1848. Out of the Ellenberger-Ziener partnership soon came the Vauen make itself, which grew to become Germany’s largest and most enduring pipe brand – a title that it continues to hold to this day. This Vauen is an interesting shape. I’ve categorized it as a pear, is it sort of looked like a very chubby (read: German) take on the classic shape, but I suppose it could also be considered a bent apple, or a bent ball. Even more interesting is the original, P-lip style stem this Vauen has, though if you’re familiar with the history of Vauen pipes, as well as other makes in the 20th century (Hilson, Savinelli, etc.), you’ll know that Peterson’s P-lip was emulated by a good number of other pipe companies. Not that this is a bad thing – they certainly help with tongue bite, to my mind. This Vauen is completely unsmoked, with a factory-original bowl coating to help ease in its first smokes. It also comes with its original box and sleeve. There are one or two worn out fills in the finish, but these imperfections are purely cosmetic. The grain is otherwise very nice. As with most Vauen pipes, it is chambered for 9mm filters, such as Vauen’s own or Savinelli’s balsa filters. It should also accommodate some variety of adapter for non-filter use, if the user prefers. Details: Length: 5.5″ / 139.7mm Bowl Width: 0.81 / 20.57mm Bowl Depth: 1.43″ / 36.32mm Weight: 2.3oz / 66g 👉🏽👉🏽Pipe Link: https://nuel.ink/gSf4se #pipesmoking #pipes #tobaccopipe #pipesmoker #pipetobacco #tobacco #smokingpipe #briarpipe #briar #smoking #pipemaker #pipecollector #artisanpipes #mbsd

New product: Kurt Balleby B Smooth Bent Apple Estate Briar Pipe, 9mm, Danish Estates Along with figures such as Hans ‘Former’ Nielsen, Anne Julie, and Tom Eltang, Kurt Balleby Hansen is one of the living legends of Danish pipe-making. Balleby celebrated his 40th year in the craft in 2023, having first started as an apprentice to Kai Nielsen and Preben Holm. Owing to a highly selective approach to the briar he uses, and to the over 150 steps involved in making a Balleby pipe, production is limited, and their availability is scarce. In our recent interview with R. Bear Graves, Bear talked about a particular aspect of Balleby pipes that he liked. That aspect was Balleby’s use of shank under-travel. In other words, where Balleby carves the bowl and shank so that the latter is positioned a little lower in relation to the former than usual, giving the bowl a fuller, rounder form as a result. That’s what’s going on here, and it’s why this distinctly Danish apple looks so organic and – to use Bear’s term – voluptuous. Aside from this, the pipe has unsurprisingly excellent briar, with its plump apple bowl covered in flame grain patterns. As an extra touch, there’s an original, silver dot that Balleby has inlaid on the north-west face of the bowl, presumably fashioned from the same material used for his signature triangular stem logo. The condition is excellent. There’s a little finish fading on the rim, likely from buffing, but nothing major. The pipe is chambered for 9mm filters as standard, but would also likely accommodate an adapter if its next owner would prefer to use it without a filter. Details: Length: 5.4″ / 137.1mm Bowl Width: 0.82 / 20.82mm Bowl Depth: 1.4″ / 35.56mm Weight: 1.6oz / 48g 👉🏽👉🏽Pipe Link: https://nuel.ink/vP0CDo #pipesmoking #pipes #tobaccopipe #pipesmoker #pipetobacco #tobacco #smokingpipe #briarpipe #briar #smoking #pipemaker #pipecollector #artisanpipes #mbsd

🌟 Excited to share my personal top 3 favorite new products: 1. The Pink Stuff floor cleaner spray - No need for a bucket or water, dries fast. A real lifesaver! (Also voted Product of the Year in the UK last year) 2. Astonish Grease Lift - I used to use products that would leave behind strong smells and require a lot of effort to remove the grease. Astonish is easy to use, no smells, minimal effort to remove grease. Just spray, wipe, and done. 10/10 3. Scrub Daddy - Aussie Shapes.
