Startup Studios validate an idea, seed it with capital, hire a CEO, they already has an internal team of executives, vendors and employees to get to work on that company from day 1. Incubators focus on idea validation and sometimes invest just enough capital to facilitate that process. Accelerators typically invest go to market capital alongside outside/external Investors and bring high level guidance and resources. These are obviously broad strokes, but you get the idea.

Such a great resource from Speedinvest , Planet A Ventures and Norrsken VC . I have built and supported founders that build both software and hardware ventures 🚀. They have different challenges and while for software there are many resources like Startup School Online by Y Combinator and other great programs, hardware startups especially in new areas such as climate tech the resources are limited. Founders who are building hardware startups for example in carbon removal, hydrogen or EVs, are dealing with problems of funding gaps along the climate capital stack 💵, hiring people with enough relevant experience, and even building an IP portfolio 💼 which is costly and time consuming, something that a software startup don’t deal with. I think that we are just starting so this playbook will definitely evolve as we gain more and more experience in funding, starting and scaling hardware climate ventures.
