🔋Major milestone! CeLLife Technologies Ltd. raises €2 million in seed funding! 🔋 We're excited to share that we closed our seed-round, led by Ventech! This funding will drive our growth across Finland, Sweden, and Germany, and support our mission to revolutionize battery quality control. Battery markets are growing exponentially (e.g., LI-ion market 5x next 10 years), but the production quality is bad. Currently 70% of total battery waste in the world is caused by production line errors. Our breakthrough technology measures precisely battery cell quality in just seconds, cutting down the hours previously needed. This allows production lines to test their entire daily output, compared to around 1% in traditional testing methods. Our technology is already serving notable clients, and in the battery and recycling sectors, cooperation has been initiated with leading electric vehicle manufacturers. With our solution we help battery industry stakeholders to save money and reduce waste ♻ Learn more from the video below, follow us on LinkedIn and visit www.cellife.fi Join our journey to revolutionize battery markets! #deeptech #innovation #seedfunding #batterywaste #sustainability

Re Northvolt's sodium-ion battery breakthrough, already a number of you asked for more details, so here's the scoop: As I said earlier, Northvolt's new sodium-ion cells are a game-changer in sustainable energy storage. They're crafted with minerals like iron and sodium - which are abundant and have a lower human rights risk than the materials in traditional batteries. Plus, they've ditched lithium, nickel, cobalt, and graphite, making them a safer and more eco-friendly choice. The battery features a hard carbon anode and a Prussian White-based cathode. This combo not only boosts performance but also aligns with our need for more ethical and sustainable technology solutions. While this represents a major step towards reducing human rights risks in battery production, let's remember: no technology is completely risk-free. As demand for these batteries rises, we must remain vigilant about potential new risks in their supply chain. Demand rising always foments supply challenges, that can trigger human rights issues. It's our collective responsibility to ensure that technological advancements go hand in hand with ethical practices. Let's celebrate this innovation while also staying committed to scrutinising and improving every step of the way. Here's to a future where our tech choices reflect our values! Well done, Northvolt and Peter Carlsson . 🌟 #Sustainability #Innovation #TechEthics #HumanRights Image/s Copyright 2023 Iselin Human Rights Ltd

Hugely exciting battery news from Sweden. The researchers over at Northvolt just announced a new state-of-the-art sodium-ion battery. Why is this a big deal? Not only is this approach to battery technology likely to be cheaper, safer, and more sustainable… it also doesn’t rely on scarce raw materials like lithium, nickel, graphite and cobalt… and it’s European. In short, this could be a major step towards cleaner batteries based on locally sourced materials. It’s still early days, and batteries like this are not exclusive to Northvolt, but this new cell has just been validated for a best-in-class energy density of over 160 watt-hours per kilogram at the company’s R&D campus. Unlocking the next generation of battery technology is critically important if we want to move humanity past ‘the age of fossil fuels’ and finally progress to ‘the age of clean energy’. A promising step towards this. 🤞

In the swiftly transforming arena of battery technology, sustaining a cutting-edge stance mandates ceaseless ingenuity and agile responsiveness. The pivotal revelations derived from the European Battery Raw Materials Conference 2023 provide us with a critical framework for navigating the emergent pathways of this dynamic field. 1️⃣ The allure of sodium-ion batteries is gradually waning, eclipsed by the mounting efficiency and fiscal advantages of lithium-based alternatives, predominantly stemming from China. Yet, the marketplace remains inherently predisposed to capricious oscillations. 2️⃣ The European black mass market is teetering on the cusp of comprehensive standardization. It is anticipated that all streams will imminently be categorized as hazardous, thereby recalibrating existing trade conduits and boosting the exigency for localized recycling paradigms. 3️⃣ Battery-grade manganese sulfate originating from beyond China's borders is increasingly perceived as a premium asset, attributed to its elevated purity metrics. Notwithstanding, its influence on the composite cost architecture of EV batteries remains thin, thus meriting earnest scrutiny from the manufacturing sector. 4️⃣ Strident appeals for augmented institutional backing from European governments have gained momentum, especially when contrasted with the proactive policy changes deployed by the United States. 5️⃣ The rubric of sustainability has shed its erstwhile status as a rhetorical flourish, ascending to the rank of an operational prerequisite. The sector is gradually veering toward institutionalising sustainability premiums, fully aware of the fiscal and ecological trade-offs immanent in green manufacturing. As we contemplate the variegated spectrum of forthcoming innovations, these incisive takeaways reorient our strategic vectors, compelling us to lead via an amalgamation of technological innovation and moral responsibility.
