Storm-chaser Josh Morgerman’s (@iCyclone) home blends in with the rest of his neighborhood, but it’s anything but ordinary — with its walls, gables, porch ceiling, columns, and trim all made with Hardie® fiber cement siding, his self-proclaimed “Hurricane House” is built to withstand a Category 5 hurricane. Read more about why Morgerman chose to build a house of his own in a city that’s often referred to as “ground zero” for hurricanes and why he trusted the durability of siding products by James Hardie to help it withstand the strongest of severe weather events. *The writer’s opinions may/may not reflect those of James Hardie. #JamesHardie #Siding #Durability #HurricaneSeason #StormChaser https://lnkd.in/gyuc9MT7

Colorado State University 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Forecast Colorado State University released their annual Hurricane forecast last week. You guessed it! The university is predicting a higher than average storm season due to "record-warm" temperatures in the Atlantic ocean. The strong El Nino from last year will give way to a La Nina between June and August. La Nina cycles typically increase both the number of storms and the strong of storms. Forecasters expect: - 23 Named Storms (compared to an avg of 14.4) - 11 Hurricanes (compared to an avg of 7.2) - 5 Major Hurricanes (compared to an avg of 3.2) This heightened forecast comes right as the property insurance market here in FL seems to be going thru a major softening....relative to last year. Another decent storm season from a loss perspective, as we experienced last year, will have real positive impacts on the property insurance markets. Let's hope that the university is wrong and this year can go as smooth as last year.... #propertyinsurance #realestate #multifamily #storms #wind #hurricanes #florida
