3 things I’ve learned over the past 2 weeks in my new role 🎊 I recently entered a new industry (hello, fire industry👋 ) which means LOTS of learning! Seriously, I feel like I’ve been a sponge the last few weeks – I want to know as much as possible!! And seeing as I’m learning a lot, I feel like I should pass it on 👇 1 – do NOT charge your phone overnight ❌ I don’t know about you, but I use my phone a LOT and the last thing I want is to damage the battery but overcharging it, and, not to freak you out, but overcharging and battery damage can lead to lithium-ion battery fires (check out https://lnkd.in/eUiyNHrb if you want to know more) 2 – spoiler alert, workplaces are supposed to have fire safety procedures in place AND tell you about it 🤯 I’ve never really paid attention to fire safety before, at home or in the workplace. I think I just assumed that if there was a fire I would call 999 and that would be it but there are all sorts of things you should know like: Are there fire extinguishers on-site? If so, where? Where’s the assembly point? Would you even know how to use a fire extinguisher if you needed to? How many exits are there in case of fire? Okay, you get the idea but if you don’t know the answers to these questions, you should ask your employer 🙌 3 – this isn’t about the fire industry per se but all industries are kind of the same 🤷♀️ Now this might sound like a weird one but I think the idea of moving into a new industry and not knowing anything caused me a lot more worry than it should have! There is obviously lots of specialist knowledge within industries but if you’ve got a team around you that want to help you learn and are rooting for you (much appreciated Sentura Group Ltd💚) there are lots of similarities between industries, and the way you do your job is more similar than you would think! So basically what I’m saying is, don’t let the fear of a new industry hold you back 😎 There’s been a lot more than these 3 things too but I think that’s enough from me today! Let me know what you think of these points, have I taught you anything new? 👇 #NewJob #career #fire #FireSafety #Learning #development

In my workshop, book and in courses I teach, I provide information to help students navigate the transition from their "dream" of an independent career and the reality of achieving it. It's up to them to take the info and work hard to implement it. Ultimately, the defining test of success, I tell them, is if they're able to provide financially for themselves (and any dependents) while pursuing their passion. If within a reasonable amount of time following graduation they find themselves without an income that allows for independent living and they're living at home with no way to cover their own bills (rent, utilities, food, transportation etc), they need to get a job.....any job......while continuing to build their portfolio and push forward. Reality checks are an important part of the process.

The biggest success you can achieve in the current time is that you are a clean human being. A respectable person.. The biggest difficult skill to maintain in your work is that you are an educated person, controlling yourself and your behaviors, maintaining your dignity, controlling your reactions, and you have a moral standard that attributes things to him and is aware of your limits. The most important skill is that you are a person who is happy for others and consult on the best of you. You love the good for others as you love for yourself. You are a humble, easy person, no matter what your position and powers. You are a trust of the side. Everyone talks to you without worrying or fear of exploiting their words at a time when things change. You remain full, not afraid for your livelihood and realizes that your livelihood is not incompatible with the livelihood of anyone else. You help others, you do not want them. The most important skill of education is because it does not learn or spread. On your intentions, you will be provided..

Knowledge is Power… I am an avid football fan, i know everything there is to know and i stay on top of all rule changes, new schemes, players changing teams, etc…You name it i know it. Now is this knowledge truly power? Not really, just a hobby that may win me a couple of arguments but nothing more. What Knowledge is Power? Knowledge in your field, where you can leverage your knowledge into not only making money but saving money as well. I love to read and consume knowledge, and when it comes to my job there is a lot to learn. I dont feel satisfied until I understand 100% of the situation. And with the constant ever changing landscape of real estate management the learning never ends (Camp Rayim Throwback) From day to day the rules not only change but new ones go into effect and if you are not on top of whats happening it may cost you big time. Any time i see something new arise i open up trusty google and i delve in, trying to understand everything i can to be well prepared for when the situation arises. Yes, it can take a significant amount of time as there is so much to go over but in my opinion its worth it. By learning this knowledge i gain the power to save $$$ For example, i had a meeting with a vendor yesterday they stated that landlines are being decommissioned in the very near future therefore our elevators will not have emergency phone lines. They have the solution which is some sort of digital line. Now is this information true? How soon? What are the risks? I will be going down the rabbit hole to find out and i wont stop until i have a full grasp of all the details involved. What Knowledge is your Power?

𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐍𝐨 It's very hard nowadays for us to say No on things that don't bring value to our life. Have you ever been asked to go out, and even though you don't want to go, but say Yes anyway? It's not easy to turn your friend down to have more time focusing on what is more important to you. * It's hard to stay at home working on a project while your friends are out and party * It's hard to not buying that stock that everyone is buying to save money for your business * It's hard to not spend money for a nice piece of clothes when you hang out at the mall * It's hard to stay at home cooking instead of going out to eat Life is full of temptations, and if we keep sayimg yes on things that are not really important, we may lose time to focus on the really important ones. That's why speding time to discover yourself is crucial. If you know exactly what you want, you will find it easier to say NO to things that are not relevant or helpful for your journey on achieving them. And also you can see it as a price you have to pay in order to get what you really want in life. - Han -

Getting started may take time. I started a new job today. Painting the interior of a building. To do that I had to figure out a rhythm and get down the process. It took some time, but I got it figured out. Have you recently started a new project? If so, how did it go? Did it take a while to figure it out? If it did, it's normal. The more complicated the new project is, the more time it will be to figure it out. If you're frustrated by that, don't be. Learning something new takes time. Spend the time to figure it out and soon enough it will come easier. Remember, make sure to have fun while figuring it out.
