Imagine you’re asleep in a relatively noisy environment and someone calls out your name- chances are your eyes would pop open. Your mind is instinctively attuned to your own name. Oh and it’s not just that you pay attention when your name is mentioned, it’s about how we bond emotionally to people who use our name. We feel a certain level of closeness to someone who uses our name, after all knowing a person’s name is the first step to getting close to them.
