Client Feedback 💖 I recently began supporting a new Hopscotch Early Years Consultancy Ltd client. My bespoke action plan is focusing on four key development objectives: - The enabling environment - Quality interactions - Curriculum provision - Promoting language All underpinned by safeguarding principles. Starting with the enabling environment, after observation and collaboration with room leaders, we worked together on some 'moving and shaking' the CEO and me worked hard for 12 hours straight, our bodies ached but it was worth it ! 😜 The best part? On Monday, the children expressed their love for the changes in action! The sights and sounds of their happy exploration of the many open ended provocations was all the job satisfaction I need. And the positive impact on the team was just as wonderful... as expressed in this little message... "Thank you for creating the enabling environment. It's so lovely to see the positive impact on the children. The new arrangement enables children to explore and play in larger spaces, where toys are more accessible to them. It really is the Fourth Teacher!!! If you're a large organisation with new members of staff joining frequently, it's a great idea to have onboarding content which welcomes them, and sets out the values you strive towards. And that's exactly what this video does for the Marches Academy Trust; a multi-academy trust based in Shropshire, which looks after eleven schools. This video also had a secondary purpose, which was to update current staff on the trust priorities going into the new school year. To make sure it fitted both purposes, we broadly kept the video vague on time mentions, so as not to date it. This was with two exceptions: at the start, and the end of the video. We recorded two separate introductions and conclusions: one which mentioned the September 2023 PD day; and one which didn't. This meant that the video could serve both purposes, and still be relevant going forwards. Plus, it would've been a logistical nightmare for the CEO to visit all the schools personally during the PD day. Having a video produced saves precious time (and petrol!!). “Tell me about how you work…” “…how long have you got?” Turns out, the answer this week is 70 METERS! 📏 After 5 full days of service engagement, my colleagues and I are now moving closer to the answer. My key takeaways from the week have been: ⚡️Energy and drive are needed to maintan pace on a longer run of workshops 🗺️ A collective understanding of purpose is needed to bring the room together to acheive the workshop outcomes 📝 Plans and prep will only get you so far, having a toolkit of techniques you can confidently deploy will support your success 👃Following your nose can be as important as sticking to the plan, so prepare to be unprepared for what you will find All in all, we executed both planned and unplanned activities to document how a service work, and all in, we captured 70 meters of brown paper 📏! Onto the next steps of documenting and quantifying the opportunities we found, working to make North Yorkshire Council efficient, effective and fit for the future 💪🏻 for our citizens!
