As the election approaches, the two most likely candidates to win are Labour and Conservative. The contrasting approaches of these two parties highlight the critical link between political decisions and the health of the job market. The Conservative Party has announced that its focus will be on reducing corporate taxes and deregulating certain industries to stimulate economic growth. Here are some of the party's key pledges, and what that could mean for UK jobs and employment: #GeneralElection2024 #UKJobs #JobsMarket #EmployementOpportunities #Staffing #Recruitment

Dear Labour Party Leaders, Congratulations on your remarkable victory in the 2024 general election! This triumph is a testament to the trust and hope that the people have placed in your vision and promises for a better future. As you assume office with this renewed mandate, it is crucial to remember the commitments that paved the way for your success. The nation looks to you with high expectations to tackle the pressing issues of our time—reducing inflation and creating sustainable jobs. These were the promises that resonated deeply with the electorate and galvanized their support. The challenges ahead are formidable, but with decisive action and unwavering dedication, they are surmountable. The urgency to stabilize the economy and provide meaningful employment opportunities cannot be overstated. Immediate and effective measures in these areas will not only improve the lives of countless citizens but also solidify the trust placed in your leadership. However, it is important to recognize that this victory comes with great responsibility. If, over the next five years, these promises are not fulfilled, the consequences will be significant. The electorate will not hesitate to hold you accountable, and the political landscape could shift dramatically, with the Labour Party once again retreating from the forefront of power. This is a pivotal moment. Seize it with the determination and foresight that have brought you this far. The future of our nation, and the legacy of your leadership, depend on your actions today. Once again, congratulations on your victory. We look forward to seeing the positive changes that your leadership will bring. ##labour party leadership ## general election 2024 UK ### immigration lawyers #### MP’s Labour Party

📢 Following last night's by-election victories by Labour in Mid Bedfordshire and Tamworth, should we start to prepare for shifts in the employment law landscape? Labour's significant wins, overturning substantial Conservative majorities, indicate a growing appetite for change amongst the electorate. Keir Starmer's remark that "people overwhelmingly want change" surely isn't far off the mark and suggests that a Labour victory might bring about substantial reforms. 🔍 In the past Labour has championed worker's rights, so might we see enhanced protections for employees? Perhaps a return to 1 year qualifying service for unfair dismissal claims and strengthened flexible working rights? Might we see a rise in the minimum wage? Labour has previously expressed concerns about zero-hours contracts, so perhaps these may see further reform. While these points are all speculative, it's vital for employers of all types to stay informed and proactive. #EmploymentLaw #UKBusiness #LabourVictory #ByElectionResults #HRDirectors https://lnkd.in/e7rpcrqs

https://lnkd.in/edbtgY2H How quickly will the new Labour government forget how unrepresentative their election has been? Each Labour seat in Parliament required on average nearly 35,000 votes whereas the 4 Green Party Seats required nearly half a million each. That is not fair and does not produce good democratic government. In the UK we worry that PR will produce unworkable coalition government making poor decisions. Are we that naive that we think the evidence of First Part The Post has been a roaring success? What we need is decision making that reflects the needs of all of us, not just those with money and influence. Please support the introduction of PR under this new Labour government and let Kier Starmer know you want this.
