Hi! I'm a recruiter who has already been hired and paid by you people to assess the talents and employability of other humans in Human Resources. I talk to employable people who struggle with homelessness daily. Neal is my qualified senior manager at Shoreline Covenant Church who has interest in leading a Shoreline Community Cleanup Project -- I am already recruiting a project team for him so that I can attract a client in his industry to sponsor his career move. Neal once had a successful career in curbing sidewalks as a Maintenance and Landscaping professional in Shoreline, WA. He is a masterfully skilled technician who is extremely precise and accurate throughout every step of the process when he is working on a project, and he is a strategic thinker who has been evaluating the conditions of the streets of Shoreline for 10 years from the vantage point of homelessness. How did Neal become homeless when he is TOP TALENT and this never should have happened to someone as smart and resourceful as him? Neal's managers failed to recognize the versatility of his talents as a person who does so many different types of work well, and they saw Neal as a brilliant neurodiverse candidate working with a hammer and doing that perfectly, and rather than realize that he is gifted at teaching others how to use that same hammer with precise movements and allowing Neal as a strategist and process engineer to move on to manage the next project need... his former employers forced him to tax his body to the maximum with that hammer until he found himself physically disabled and unable to do the same type of manual labor, and then he was discarded until I found him. For some reason, no one else besides me has interviewed Neal and presented a workable solution to his outstanding employment and housing problem, but Neal is one of my best candidates in Free HR, and Neal believes in his own employability and his own housing at the Paceline Apartments with the help of our community in Shoreline. Why would Shoreline Covenant Church want to leave Neal outside when he is so employable and he's been attending that church for years?! Neal wants to be a business success, and he is proud of the working solutions that I discussed with him as his free agent. Is Neal ready to start a W-2 today or tomorrow? Absolutely not, and this has been the bottleneck for Neal. We will need to invest at least 2 months in Neal's recovery and real rehabilitation with the help of qualified healthcare professionals, and Ardyn White is our qualified manager in mental health to help oversee this pilot program. A 20 minute walk with the team can be incredible for your physical and mental wellbeing to increase your focus. 3. Give good treats. Even something as simple as recognising and thanking someone for their hard work can go a long way. 4. Teach new tricks. Recruitment and retention is a consistent challenge in the NHS and Social Care. A unfied system and place based approach would enhance consideration of careers in these sectors. A single career and development hub from system to place would be much more accessible whilst ensuring individual organisational identity and choice across health and social care geographies. The current approach is disjointed, complex and overly competitive. Consider a 'one stop shop' to enable existing and potential staff to truly see the opportunities available to realise their potential and aspirations.
