Imagine a race that challenges the most fearless drivers around. A race where you build the best possible car to account for aerodynamics, gravity, and speed, all to make it from start to finish. A race where reaction time is paramount and, in many ways, simply crossing the finish line can be considered a win. No, we’re not talking F1. Well, not exactly. In this race, F1 drivers put their skills to the ultimate test as they race from top-to-bottom in personalized Red Bull soapboxes ahead of the 2024 Canadian Grand Prix. https://lnkd.in/eSV6FrwB

Which line is fastest? This is the trickiest section of race track at the Todd Road Circuit. Driver can approach it a few ways, but which one is the fastest? 1. Drive a more direct line to save on distance 2. Open up the entry to the second corner 3. Maintain the racing line through both turns

If I were the head of INDYCAR I would do anything to race at Monaco the day before or day after F1. Indy cars on that track would be epic and might actually get people watching Indy. - Smaller enough to make a difference - No power steering - Refueling - Fewer pit crew members - More liberal DRS rules It would be a vastly better race than the current F1 Monaco offering. Of course, F1 would never let that happen since it would show how much Monaco has been neutered by huge, computerized cars. Option 2: F1 should run Monaco with F1 cars from the mid-1980’s.

𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐬?✈️ Fun fact. Did you know that the top speed of a NASCAR car can exceed 200 miles per hour, faster than the average commercial airplane takeoff speed? The record for the fastest top speed in a NASCAR race weekend stands at 212 mph (341 kph), set by Bill Elliott at Talladega in 1987 during the qualifying rounds. Commercial planes typically takeoff at about 150 to 180 miles per hour (260 kph). However, these blistering speeds led to safety concerns, as cars began to literally lift off the ground (aka became airborne) under certain conditions. This lead to NASCAR implementing restrictor plates at the high-speed tracks of Daytona International Speedway and Talladega to reduce speeds, (notably after Bobby Allison's dramatic crash at the 1987 Winston 500). Still the races are heart thumping events. So will you be at Daytona or watching the race this weekend? 🏁 #daytona500 #motorsports #sports #cars #aircraft #speed
