The main concern is the threat of a lone wolf terrorist. The opening ceremony, which will take place outside a stadium for the first time, is seen as the most vulnerable event. To ensure safety, 160 boats will carry 10,000 athletes and officials along the River Seine, while 45,000 security personnel will be stationed on streets, rooftops, and in buildings. There is even a possibility of involving the military. French President Emmanuel Macron has stated that if safety cannot be guaranteed, the ceremony may be moved into a stadium. Despite these concerns, the organizers have emphasized that the show must go on and there is no backup plan for the parade. With an estimated global TV audience of one billion and 350,000 spectators expected along the route (including 100,000 paying for front-row seats), security measures are of utmost importance. The scale of the Games itself poses a challenge, with 392 events scheduled across 19 days and 11 million tickets sold. However, Mark England, chef de mission for Team GB, has expressed confidence in the International Olympic Committee's security plans. The IOC has also expressed high confidence in the French authorities' ability to make the Games safe and has mobilized around 45,000 security personnel for the opening ceremony and 35,000 for each subsequent day. Famous landmarks in Paris will serve as backdrops for events. Hello everyone, It is important for me to update you on the events that took place in Israel on October 7, 2023 and since then. One reason is that these events will cause partial availability of the Israeli team, and a significant delay in the distribution of the survey (which is currently not relevant to any Israeli citizen...). But another reason is that I feel obliged to inform you of what is happening here, in our country: On Saturday, at 6:30 in the morning, the terrorist organization Hamas attacked the citizens of the State of Israel. He fired thousands of missiles at cities and civilian towns, but that was only the "first course". At the same time, there was a "main course" - 1,500 terrorists from the "Nohba" force of Hamas broke through the border fences, and invaded all the neighboring civilian villages, as well as a party where about 5,000 people were partying (and also army bases). For those of you who are not familiar with the conflict: Israel is not in and does not control the Gaza Strip! The border between this strip and the State of Israel is internationally recognized! The invasion was into the sovereign territory of Israel (and not into a disputed territory...). Those 1,500 terrorists murdered about 1,200 civilians (and another 300 soldiers were killed in the battles against them). I don't know how much you can handle emotionally, so I won't tell you the ways in which some of the citizens were murdered. I will just tell you that dozens of children were murdered, and hundreds of women, with weapons like guns, machine guns, grenades, knives and also... fire! Take from that what you will... I will only gently imply: the slogan "Hamas = Daesh" is not exaggerated... You have to understand, Israel is a small country (10 million inhabitants), so almost everyone personally knows people who were murdered or injured in the terrorist attack. It took the State of Israel a day and a half to get over the initial shock, and start organizing for a response. We realized that if we want to survive - we will have to destroy the terrorist organization that stands in front of us. We are attacking the infrastructure of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, and are organizing a ground entry into this territory. To my deep regret (!!!) the terror organization's infrastructure were purposely established in and under towns in the Gaza Strip, and Gaza City in particular. This means that the State of Israel is forced to attack Hamas when it hides under residents' homes. In this way - the terrorist organization Hamas turned the 2 million residents of the Gaza Strip into the "human shield" of the terrorists (and no, they were not asked for ... <read the rest on Facebook>
