I often get asked about digital elevation models (DEMs) that are created from #drone #mapping data, and how to use them. So I thought it was time to run a short lunch and learn to demo a few options. Come and join me tomorrow at 1pm AEST Wed (7pm PST Tues)! https://lnkd.in/eM9sZABh And yes, we'll send you the recording if you can't make it. I will be working in ArcGIS Pro, but if I get enough interest I'll run something using similar tools in #QGIS - let me know! #geospatial #remotesensing #Earthobservation #dronemapping #DSM #DTM #GIS

Have you reviewed the newly-released positional accuracy standards for digital geospatial data released this week by American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing? Significant changes include: 1. The elimination of references to the 95% confidence level as an accuracy measure; 2. Relaxation of the accuracy requirement for ground control and checkpoints. 3. Consideration of survey checkpoint accuracy when computing final product accuracy. 4. Removal of the pass/fail requirement for Vegetated Vertical Accuracy (VVA) for lidar data. 5. Increase in the minimum number of checkpoints required for product accuracy assessment from twenty (20) to thirty (30). 6. Introduction of a new term, “three-dimensional positional accuracy & others. https://lnkd.in/g8Xrp5-G.
