During my second year of college... I was on a mission to land a great internship. I put my all into studying and prepping for it. At the same time, I had a friend from a different engineering branch who was just as determined. We cheered each other on, and it was a friendly competition. Both of us knew our stuff when it came to computer science, which is something a lot of students from different branches pick up to boost their chances of getting a tech job. When internship season rolled around, we were both buzzing with excitement. But then, I found out that my friend couldn't apply to most of the companies because his branch was different. He was limited to only about 30-40% of the companies that were open to other branches. That was a real eye-opener for me. It showed me that talent and hard work don't always get you the same opportunities. It made me rethink what fairness really means. Ever since then, I've had a lot of respect for companies that look at what you can do, not just what you studied. I believe in giving everyone a fair shot, based on their skills, not their branch of study. It's important that companies and schools create a level playing field for everyone to succeed based on their abilities. Let's push for a tech industry (and a world) that's more about what you can do, not where you come from. #EqualOpportunities #Inclusion #MeritOverBranch #TechIndustry
