New MEMS Gyros Drive Aviation Innovation: First, came the spinning-mass gyroscope. Then, came the (costly) optical gyroscope (laser-ring for example, used on our Boeing & Airbus IR systems). Now, comes the low-cost, Micro-ElectroMechanical Systems (MEMS) vibrating gyroscope. This is the type used in several GADSS monitoring systems, required by ICAO on many aircraft, starting 1st January 2025. This is how MEMS work; https://lnkd.in/gx7HYBqM How GADSS works; https://lnkd.in/gbDc76Ny Next story: why military veterans are rising, against a disrespectful grifter; https://lnkd.in/drTKeWvn

[#event ]📣SAVE THE DATE📣 Towards new #European #military #helicopter programmes / In advance of the 49th European #Rotorcraft Forum 🔵AAE #WORKSHOP 📆Sept. 4, 2023 ⌚ 2:00 to 4:00pm 📍 City Hall / Helicopter museum - #Bückeburg – #Germany 🟢 Free Registration : https://urlz.fr/mwgL A forum entitled «Towards New European Military Helicopter Programs», organized by the Air and Space Academy, was held in Paris on June 15, 2022, during the Eurosatory Exhibition. This forum confirmed that it is time to prepare the next generation of rotorcraft, the key points are to define a common set of capability requirements at the European level incluying UK, based on a real political will from the member States. The fact that companies are willing to cooperate together is a very positive point. The work continued between the companies and the members of the Academy and led to the establishment of recommendations addressed to all the actors of a military rotorcraft program to be developed in cooperation. During this meeting, the members of the Academy and of the companies will present their work: recommendations and best practices to achieve a coherent program to reach a high-performance, flexible rotorcraft platform that meets the needs of armed forces. A second part will allow us to collect your questions and comments. 👉 Event organised by the Académie de l'air et de l'espace - Air and Space Academy #rotorcraft #DGLR #aaevent German Aerospace Center (DLR) CEAS - Council of European Aerospace Societies

This week I attended the 2nd European Military AM Symposium in Bonn, Germany. "Think Big: About large scale structures, aviation and rockets" was the topic of the session, in which I had the chance to present some #coldspray examples of rocket engine parts, especially how straight forward it is to build up bimetallic rotational symmetric large parts. If you want to know more about #coldspray, just get in contact with me. (Photo: DWT) #metalam #thermalspray #impactinnovations #additivefertigung

Proud to have EpiSci's Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) AIR award covered in Aviation Week Network. "EpiSci and our sub, PhysicsAI, are the only teams who participated in the original AlphaDogfight Trials, are currently performers on the Air Combat Evolution Program (ACE) and are now also performers on the AIR program. Earlier this month, the Secretary of the Air Force safely experienced fully AI-controlled flight and high-G combat maneuvers in a modified F-16 controlled by our AI agents. The AIR program allows us to continue this proud history of excellence in air combat autonomy.” - Dan "Animal" Javorsek, PhD https://lnkd.in/gfD7Bz-q Bo Ryu, Dan "Animal" Javorsek, PhD, Epiphany Ryu, Chris Gentile, Chris Cotting, Matthew Niemiec, Nadja Adilovic, Louis Dube #TacticalAI #DefenseTech #DARPA #AlphaDogfight #ACE #PhysicsAI
