Parties to a construction contract often engage in disputes concerning changes to the project's completion date, the project's design, or a party’s scope of work under the contract, resulting in one party seeking compensation from the other. When such compensation is pursued by a party, the critical importance of giving notice of an intent to claim cannot be understated. A great article on the issues associated with claiming head office overheads. One of the greatest battle in delay claims is the compensation for cost that are not detailed in the original tender or contract. This could be anything from office, insurance, telephones, IT system and equipment, staff, etc. The go to approach has been Hudson, Emden or Eichleay. How do you claim such cost? #delay #headoffice #overheads #claims
