You are not just calendar managers, travel agents, and expense managers. You are business partners to your executives and leadership teams; you are the culture creators; you are the firefighters who douse the flames of chaos; you are the ones who see and hear everything; and, most importantly, you are the ones that keep projects moving from behind the scenes, very often with little praise. Delta Dallas was founded on an executive support placement over 40 years ago, and we are so proud of the amazing network of administrative support professionals that we have built in those years. We hope you know that you are the foundation of our success, and we appreciate you! #AdministrativeProfessionalsWeek #AdministrativeProfessionalsDay #AdminWeek #AdminDay #DeltaDallas #Appreciation

Three Leadership Lessons from Elf The holidays bring a variety of seasonal delights, from the warmth of Glühwein to the tang of pizzelles to the parade of classic holiday films. Beyond the heart-warming moments, there are some enduring truths nestled in our beloved holiday movies. Will Farrell’s character Buddy Hobbs might not be the first person you’d look to for career guidance, but the movie Elf is replete with lessons. Here are three leadership insights straight from the North Pole to your office: (https://lnkd.in/e9nxFCVU) Never underestimate the gifts of others. Buddy’s unique approach to the world is routinely overlooked or scoffed at by those around him. When people around us see the world differently, it is an opportunity to strengthen our outlook and methods. This can make the difference between failure and success—as Santa can attest. The way you treat others has consequences. Walter Hobbs’ selfishness not only put him on Santa’s naughty list, it had far-reaching implications for his personal and professional life. Whether it’s the person delivering a singing telegram or Santa Claus himself, taking time to treat others with dignity and respect will always enhance your work, not detract from it. People can change. Office politics can become deeply entrenched. How might your team dynamics change if you extended more optimism, respect, and grace to a colleague? As Santa counsels Buddy: “Some people just lose sight of what’s important in life. That doesn’t mean they can’t find their way again.”

Feeling fed up in your job? Transform your career and enjoy work again 😊 | Career Transformation Coach 🎙 | Podcast Host 🤘 | Rebel with a Cause
Reflecting on my corporate days, I can’t help but think of all the things that drove me nuts. I shared Part 1 of my top 10 pet hates yesterday (numbers 10 to 6). Now, here are the eagerly awaited top 5: 🏢 5. Pointless Office Days: Dragging myself to the office only to find no one I actually work with there. Even pre-COVID, I worked from home, but was forced into the office twice a week. Some days, the receptionist was the only person I spoke to! 🤝 4. Mismanaged Meetings: Stick to the agenda, folks. Nothing worse than endless tangents wasting everyone’s time. 🎯 3.‘Fun’ Away Days: Let’s be real – these so-called fun activities are anything but fun. 🧑🏻💼 2. Terrible Promotions: Promoting people to leadership roles based on technical skills or tenure instead of actual leadership ability. It’s a disaster waiting to happen. 🙈 1. Empty Corporate Values: Publishing values that no one follows – just stop pretending. I’m sure I’ve missed a few, but this list is a solid start. What frustrates you the most? #frustration #top10 #corporategrind #escapetheratrace #therebelliouscoach
