As summer draws to a close, so does our time with an exceptional group of interns. STAR's summer internship program offers a range of workshops, skill enhancement, workforce practices and professional development opportunities. In the upcoming weeks, we are thrilled to introduce you to these exceptional interns. Let's begin by meeting Drew Dane, who hails from the Human Resources department. What has been the best part of your internship at STAR? The best part of my internship at STAR has been my team listening to my ideas like an actual full-time employee and not an intern. When we collaborate, they always listen to my ideas and see if they would actually work. If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why? If I could have one superpower it would be the ability to read people’s minds because that could be very useful in the field that I want to go into. If I were to know what people actually think, I could make decisions easier. What advice do you have for future interns? The advice that I have for future interns is to not be afraid to speak up and say your opinion on things that matter. Even though you are just an intern it doesn’t make your opinion invalid. Take chances and take on a lot of responsibility to get the most out of this experience.
