Day 228, 16th July 2023: Going Where Your Eyes Go In racing, they say that your car goes where your eyes go. The driver who cannot tear his eyes away from the wall as he spins out of control will meet that wall; the driver who looks down the track as he feels his tires break free will regain control of his vehicle. Garth Stein When you face hardships and feel like you’re about to crash, heed the advice of racing drivers: look at where you want your car to go, not at the wall you want to avoid hitting. In practical terms, this means focusing on taking the next step to solve the difficult situation instead of busying your mind with worrying about what will happen if you don’t manage to succeed. Doing the latter is not only a waste of energy, it also actively works against you by convincing your brain that the failure is inevitable, thereby making it less likely that you’ll avoid it. Obsessing about the imminent failure guarantees it, while holding the steering wheel tightly and looking down the track increases your chances of escaping such a fate. Fuel IS burned very efficiant in 30.000 feet with enormous high exhaust Temperature..... Our Cars are having now Euro 7 vs, Air Traffic IS still burning 11.000.000.liters per Seconds with Euro O🤡🤡🤡🤡😉👍 Each of you are supporting this Problem by your flights! What are you doing for fun this summer? For the third year in a row, I participated in an event called Rocky Mountain Race week! For people in the drag race community, this is a Drag-N-Drive event. If you aren't familiar with this concept, basically, the event takes place at 4 or 5 different drag strips, and you have to turn in your fastest time slip for the day, then drive your race car to the next track (on a prescribed route that avoids highways), and race again. This year's drive days added up to around 1300 miles through the Rockies, Nebraska and Kansas. For most of us, the drive days are harder on the car than the racing, because drag cars tend to be purpose-built for speed and going in a straight line! My race car is a 1967 Plymouth Barracuda fastback, powered by a 440 cubic inch Mopar big block, and the transmission is a 3 speed, Chrysler 727 with a manual valve body (I have to shift it manually). This year, we competed in the Naturally Aspirated Big Block Class, and we won Third Place! There were cars in the class that were faster than us, BUT they had engine trouble and couldn't finish. That's the deal! Just finishing is the main goal, going fast is secondary! Get out and have some challenging fun this summer - you deserve it! #RMRW #CalicoCuda #dragracing #mopar

Plymouth completely redesigned the Belvedere/Satellite/Road Runner series for 1971 with a handsome fuselage theme. The coupes and hardtops were now quite different from the more conventional sedans and wagons. The two-doors had a low recessed grille surrounded by a loop bumper, flared fenders and a high trunk. 1971 Plymouth Road Runners could be recognized by the “ladder stripe” running down the C-pillars. The new Road Runner Hardtop was shorter, but the wheelbase was longer. Performance was being eroded by insurance rates and emissions issues, and this would be the last year for the high-powered engines. The muscle car party coming to an end, and there were no more Superbirds no convertibles, while the Road Runner and GTX were limited to just one Hardtop model each. Plymouth sold 651,812 units in 1971, nine percent less than 1970, while the industry rose 31 percent overall. As a result, the division dropped from third to sixth place nationally. On a brighter note, Richard Petty came back to drive his signature #43 blue Hemi Road Runner and won his 3rd NASCAR Grand National Championship.
