That's a wrap on #TEACH23 A while back, some of the AFT Foundations team decided to write proposals to present at the AFT TEACH conference. Glen and I, who are early childhood educators, took pieces of a few Foundations modules and tailored them specifically for early childhood education. Oftentimes, conferences and other spaces don't include ECE, and we want to shift that narrative. What areas of practice would you like to see offered for professional learning near you? #AFTPD #professionaldevelopment #professionallearning

Online education was a driver of growth in higher education, even before the COVID-19 pandemic: distance learning has increased by 40% and more students are opting for a combination of online and in-person courses. Students rate online classes well, and appreciate the opportunity to learn at their own pace; what they want is more social interactions. 🌟 Fable is excited to participate in the 43rd Annual Conference on The First-Year Experience hosted by the National Resource Center for the First-Year Experience and Students in Transition, taking place in Seattle from February 18-21st. 🌟 First Year / Common Read programs hosted on Fable: 1️⃣ Provide the chance for students to engage on our social platform while learning at their own pace 2️⃣ Encourage students to take responsibility for their own learning, while enjoying the rewards of peer learning 3️⃣ Support the mental health of students by cultivating healthy daily reading habits. If you're going to the First-Year Experience Conference, come by booth 42 to learn how Fable can enhance the First-Year experience of your students. Not going to Seattle? Send us at note at work@fable.co to set up time to learn how discovering, reading and discussing books on Fable can support your students.

Driving Transformative Sales Strategies and Innovative Solutions for Higher Education 🚀📚 | Passionate About Enhancing Student Success
Courses characterized by elevated rates of unsuccessful outcomes, specifically those with DFWI rates surpassing 30%, can profoundly detriment a student's GPA, erode their motivation, and impede their overall academic advancement. Through its collaboration with the Kennesaw State University College of Business, Knack facilitated student access to assistance beyond conventional business hours, aligning with KSU's objective of engaging students on their terms. Notably, 38% of these support sessions took place outside the customary 9:00 am to 5:00 pm timeframe, with an additional 13% being conducted over weekends. #studentsuccess #tutoring #edtech
Improving DFWI rates is a top priority for campuses like Kennesaw State University. But, how did the Kennesaw State University - Michael J. Coles College of Business improve DFWI rates for core business courses? With the help of Knack! Together, KSU’s Coles College of Business, Dr. Mona Sinha and Knack: 🚀 Delivered more than 3,000 hours of tutoring to students 🚀 Provided tutoring services outside of traditional tutoring center hours 🚀 Scaled their managed peer tutoring program to provide coverage for ALL business school courses ⬇️ Download the case study to learn more about how KSU’s Coles College of Business did it: https://lnkd.in/g4McSw7M #peertutoring #studentsuccess #highered #studentengagement

Building confidence and empowering learning as the Director of Learning @ iArticulate, Founder of Discoveryoutdoors.org connecting young people in Sheffield to their local environment.
Online software like Miro are powerful tools for collaboration. Did you know you can build reports from Miro content? Or that you can create individual environments within a single shared canvas? We construct our online collaborations using Miro because the tools are flexible in design and tactile for participants. Collated information can be sent to a report through an Ai function and shared easily. This enables us to support long term mentoring relationships. We provide our mentee schools their own collaborative environments so they can continue their progress between our meetings. We love the connection of in person visits. We also know the financial challenge that creates for many schools. And then there’s carbon of course. Jonathan Smith and I can support your programme development from a distance through effective, motivating collaboration. Get in touch if an outside voice and mentor can support your programme development. www.iarticulatementors.org hello@iarticulatementors.org Cheers!
Yesterday, iArticulate held its pilot Monthly Meeting Series workshop! We had a great time talking about our 2023-24 school year, and thinking of ways to start 2024-25 with a bang :). Thanks to all who participated. We reflected on how we are doing with the Approaches to Learning (AtLs). Did we effectively lead students to develop their Thinking, Communication, Social, Research and Self-Management skills? And what were our biggest challenges? Lots of good ideas shared. What does it REALLY mean to develop these skills? This is worthy of deep consideration. As important, and less often considered: how are we doing with Approaches to Teaching (AtTs)? This is more challenging for most schools – in fact, many IB teachers are not very familiar with them. In our brainstorming and sharing, we saw disparity between the different ATTs. For example, ‘Focus on Conceptual Understanding’ seems to be a tough one to authentically address. ‘Assessment’ and ‘Inquiry’ appear to be more accessible. Why is this? And what can we do to address all of them? Our IB Subject Guides mention all of these, but how do we REALLY implement them in our pedagogy? What are your biggest challenges when it comes to AtLs and AtTs? An outside voice can make all the difference when it comes to maximizing your IB experience for teachers and students. Want to ‘up your IB game?’ Let us know. Our next Monthly Meeting will be in early August. Stay tuned! www.iarticulatementors.org #iArticulateWorkshops #ApproachesToLearning #ApproachesToTeaching #IBEducation #IBProfessionalDevelopment
