Reflections on Day One of Plast: the inventive thinking that continues to drive our industry amazes me! Today I have heard of new developments in foamed PET using both recycled and virgin resin, innovations in cable materials featuring both recycled (something I did not expect) and innovative EBA resins and new solutions in masterbatch for colour and additives. I have had many meetings about sustainability and the legislative framework here in Europe. There is a clear trend to "mass balance" approaches and traditional mechanical recycling, all of which makes for an exciting if somewhat confusing future. What is clear is that for a "mature" industry the pace of innovation is accelerating in many areas, I reflect on the fact that I was always told that as an industry slows its pace of advance, innovation also slows down; this is not happening with plastics! This should give us food for thought and it will certainly impact the insights I provide in the upcoming Global Plastics Industry Seminar in Montegrotto Terme (September 21)and Cologne (October 19th). It still feels great to be part of this industry. #sustainability #polyethylene #masterbatch

How many times do you think we can recycle PC/ABS and re-use it in a closed-loop production? If we tell you that you could do it over 10 times easily, you most probably think that there is no way as regrind material is always mixed with virgin (25/75 or 30/70) and never alone and can't be recycled more than once or twice. So pls check below what we have been able to achieve during 5 days production Fakuma Messe 2023. All we needed is one 25kg bag of PC/ABS to work the full 5 days. After the virgin was used (few hours) we kept on recycling every single part to keep on production going so that after the first day, all parts were made with 100% in-line recycled material. After 5 days of non-stop production and continuous recycling, the piano black finish was the same as the first part made with 100% virgin material. Back from the laboratory test...no part has any performance issue. To our knowledge this is the first time this has been ever done. We gathered all the knowledge Matsui has acquired since 1912 to make it possible. You want to incorporate recycle material, just let us know and we make it possible for you. The trick is that every step matters : MHTBV (material handling / thermal balance / ventilation).
At Fakuma Messe 2023, we demonstrated that sustainable molding is not only achievable but can be done in a practical way without overhauling your existing setup. We even recycled PC-ABS material over 10x in the course of 5 days. The key to achieving this is in minimising stress to the mechanical properties of the material by ~ Preventing over drying of resin ~ Avoiding breakage of resin molecular chain ~ Reducing heat stress to resin at every step of the recycling process Check out our video from the demo and discuss with us on how to make your molding sustainable. #sustainable #molding #plasticsindustry #factor4 #greeneconomy #recycling

Have you ever wondered why there arenโt more recycled plastic products in the market? There is no single answer, yet one reason is very simple โ making high-quality recycled plastic products is difficult. โ๏ธ It all begins with sorting the waste, which still relies on the manual process. This limits the amount of plastic recycled and used in production. To tackle this issue, our Group installed a precise optical sorting line at the Plasta plant in Lithuania. โ๏ธ Recycled plastic products require new formulas to match the quality of those made of virgin plastic. At Plasta Group, we innovate constantly to keep up with the demands of the market. โ๏ธ Manufacturing from recycled materials means less stable output in terms of its quality. Therefore, we strictly control and test the recycled granulate that we use in the production process and never skip the final product tests. #plastic #recycling #production

Plastic Waste Sorting Machine Collecting plastic waste may be attractive in the first step for recycling, but considering that this waste is made up of different types of plastic, recycling them in one place cannot be very attractive and the final product of recycling does not have the required quality. This machine, which was displayed at the Chinaplus 2024 exhibition in Shanghai, divides the collected waste into different categories, which makes recycling plastic waste in each category separately. . Chinaplus exhibition is one of the largest and most important exhibitions in the polymer industry and related industries. This exhibition is held in China and has attracted many audiences. This exhibition was held for the first time in 1983, which means that it has been held for more than 40 years, and this continuity shows its importance. . This exhibition is active in all sectors related to rubber, plastic, thermoplastic elastomer, equipment and machinery, and the newest and most up-to-date products are displayed in this exhibition, and it is a very good opportunity to communicate with other market participants and learn about It is the most up-to-date in the market. . This exhibition was held in Shanghai in 2024 from April 23 to 26. . At the end of this important event, the number of participants was announced as follows through the official website of Chinaplus. . Total number of participants: 293,500 people Number of foreign participants: 64,390 people (21.9%) . Wait for other sections including halls and booths .
