12 days into the new year and our first major initiative is already in the books. An immersive training experience for our customer facing staff that spanned 8 days in total and impacted over 160 individuals. Was nervous going into this because: 1) it had never been done at Viewrail, so no blueprint to work from 2) in a fast-paced, highly competitive business landscape, it can feel like no time is ever the right time to slow down and look inward. So the weight of desiring to create something of equal or greater value to the opportunity cost at stake was heavy 3) I ultimately was not the holder of that which was truly of value (the content). I was simply charged with casting a vision, preparing the space/logistics, and setting the atmosphere while leaning on our team to deliver the content and fully bring what was once a thought to fruition. And while I sit here lamenting on my anxieties leading into this event, that energy was likely matched if not exceeded by those charged with attending it (remember that comment about opportunity cost?). Nonetheless, day in and day out I experienced people on all fronts bringing their best selves and giving their all, living out one of Viewrail's core values: Flourishing (seeking growth and value due to a desire to see the best in ALL things). I am thankful for my team that came alongside me to help cultivate this experience (Frank Bumgardner, Kyle Hembree, Jake Driver, Paula Ronda, David Cook, Andrew Thomas, Cris Walterhouse, Mark McGrath and a bunch more), I am thankful for our Viewrail team that showed up and collectively united together to truly make this experience fruitful, I am thankful for a leadership team that values this kind of work and is willing to set aside resources to support it. The work is nowhere near done though as now is the time to assess and debrief in efforts to refine/improve this experience for the future while strategizing ways to, throughout this year, stoke the fire of enthusiasm that was was created during these past two weeks. Guess I'm saying all this to say, I'm excited for the opportunities ahead in 2024.
