As a passionate digital native marketeer, it is always an honor to participate in judging discussions that shed light on the ever-evolving landscape of media in post-pandemic neo-hybrid media world The infusion of technology especially in traditional media of TV, OOH, Publishing, Shelves, Audio, SKUs is an incredible leap forward, while phygital media continues to gallop forward From grassroots Rural initiatives to hyper-personalized AI-led campaigns changing lives of geriatric care, the spectrum of innovation showcased at the event was truly inspiring One of the most fascinating aspects was witnessing how the traditional boundaries between cause-marketing and brand-building are becoming increasingly blurred. This symbiotic relationship between societal impact and brand identity is not only commendable but also indicative of a larger shift towards conscious consumerism Moreover, the redefinition of branded content in the wake of the content explosion was a recurring theme throughout our discussions. The proliferation of content across various platforms has necessitated a shift in how brands accelerate both speed and quality of content, versus debating between either! Last but not just, one couldn't overlook the pivotal role of AI-led hyper-personalization in shaping the future of media. The ability to leverage Generative AI vs just data to deliver tailored experiences to consumers was thrilling What truly made this experience invaluable was the opportunity to engage with fellow jurors, each bringing their unique perspectives from diverse backgrounds spanning from grassroots organizations to tech giants In conclusion, my time at the Festival of Media 2024 awards has not only equipped me with deeper insights into the evolving media landscapes but also reaffirmed my belief that coffee with fellow marketeers over great content is the ultimate high in the dynamic world of media and marketing Thank you, Festival of Media Thank you, AI! A Carrot named Cannes ! First of all, Congratulations to every winner, every shortlist and every entrant at Cannes 2024. The festival of creativity is not what is celebrated at The Palais des Festivals et des Congrès. It starts the moment you get that one thought that sprouts as a potential idea which you want to share and wait for it to be accepted. And then when you take efforts to sell the idea to your client. Making sure the idea is executed, refined and crafted to perfection. When you spend days and nights perfecting the case presentation. Then eagerly wait for the competition to be thrown open for entry. Finally looking for the right category to be entered in and then looking forward to the shortlist announcement. From the day you get the idea to the day you get the results, every moment is a celebration of creativity. From ideation to appreciation to acceptance to approvals to execution to submission, every milestone is a celebration. And just after the festival, the race will start. To hunt the Lion next June. No matter how many Lions you bring to your shelf, the Lions never cease to attract you. Every Lion home is a reason for bringing the other Lion home. It’s not about why you didn’t get the Lion this year, It’s about how long can you feed the Lion in you and keep it alive. Because the blood you tasted will keep on feeding the Lion of your dreams. It will never dry. The Lion will chase the ideas in your veins and get it out without waiting for any brief. The Lion will roar and get the approvals. The Lion will not let you sleep. NOVEMBER AGENDA SIGNS POLICY REVIEW Informed by the recommendations of an independent review and stakeholder engagement outcomes, the City has prepared a revised Signs Policy for Council’s consideration with a recommendation to advertise the draft Policy. PERTH CITY DEAL STRATEGIC PLAN One of the projects under the Perth City Deal is development of a Strategic Plan. Since the agreement, the City has moved ahead with development and implementation of a series of strategic documents that perform the same role and achieve the same outcomes as the Strategic Plan was originally intended to. Council is being recommended to approve the removal of a plan from the City Deal. KERBSIDE PARKING POLICY REVIEW The Council is being recommended to adopt a revised Kerbside Parking Policy. The Policy divides the City into six zones, each with a different hierarchy for priority of kerbside uses. . The objective of the Policy is to support an effective transport system that reflects the unique nature of each neighbourhood. MAJOR EVENT SPONSORSHIP The Council is being recommended to approve a three-year $750k Sponsorship through the Major Events and Festivals Sponsorship Program for the AusCycling Road National Championships 2025 – 2027. EVENT SPPONSORSHIP The Council is being recommended to approve $209k sponsorship to support Strange Festival, Perth Chinese New Year Fair 2024, and Tarmac West 2024. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SPONSORSHIP The Council is being recommended through the sponsorship program to approve $183K in funding for AOG Energy 2024-36 and the Skål International Australia 109th National Assembly being held in Perth. TREE PROTECTION POLICY REVIEW The Policy sets out the City’s approach to the protection and management of the Urban Forest. The Policy applies to City-owned and managed trees located within the road reserve and public realm only. Accompanying Guidelines provide detail on the valuation, maintenance, and protection of City trees. INQUIRY RECOMMENDATIONS UPDATE This quarterly progress update will be provided to the DLGSC along with evidence to validate completion of the Inquiry actions. The Inquiry Oversight Group will then consider the information provided. If the recommendations are deemed to be addressed, they will be officially closed out. PARKING AMENDMENT LOCAL LAW ADOPTION The Council is being recommended to adopt a series of minor amendments to the Parking Local Law which provides for the management and regulation of parking within the City of Perth district. Reports to consider Citywide Security Services, CEO KPIs, and Cathedral Plaza Defects Rectification have been marked confidential by the CEO and will be discussed behind closed doors. City of Perth JUNE AGENDA 📖 FINISHING ROE STREET 🚧 In order for the Roe Street Masterplan project to be completed, Council is being recommended to approve a variation to increase the value of the contract for construction works. PRIDEWA & SPACE COLLECTIVE SPONSORSHIP 🏳️🌈🏍️ Through the Major Events and Festivals sponsorship program, the City supports events of national and international significance which enhance Perth’s reputation and generate significant return on investment, economic impact, and visitation outcomes. Events will also provide significant sponsorship benefits in recognition of the City's support. Council is being recommended to support a $210k sponsorship for Pride WA PrideFEST 2023, and $500k cash and in-kind support for Space Collective to undertake and International Motorsport Event. DRAFT SOCIAL, HEALTH, AND WELLBEING STRATEGY 2023/33🩺🏃🏻♂️ As required by s.16 of the Public Health Act 2016, the City has developed a Social, Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2023/33. The Strategy is based on the World Health Organisation’s Social Determinates of Health themes (social, physical, and economic environments) which align with the City’s Strategic Pillars: liveable, sustainable, and prosperous. CODE OF CONDUCT REVIEW🏛️ The City has undertaken a minor review of the Code to ensure that the expectations and responsibilities included in the Code are still relevant and minor amendments, to improve consistency of language and provide clarity is recommended. The Code will be reviewed again following the 2023 Election to align the biennial review date with the local government election schedule and to provide the new council with the opportunity to be involved in the review. TECH ACTION PLAN💻 Following stakeholder engagement earlier in 2023, Council is being recommended to approve the plan. The Tech Action Plan proposes three major outcomes being: 1) More investment into the State leading to growth of individual companies and the ecosystem; 2) Activation and audience development which creates energy in the city and leads to greater space utilisation and creation of new spaces; and 3) Increased capacity within the tech and innovation ecosystem including skills, knowledge, networks and partnerships. If approved, the actions to deliver the Tech Action Plan as recommended are estimated to result in the average annual spend on tech related activity to $752,500 over the next three years from 2023/24.
