Sales & Sales Management Professional, Linkedin Publisher, Fuel card Consultant, Motivational Speaker, Political Pundit
Failing Upward! We've all seen it & it's always without merit. This occurs when an employee fails to meet the responsibilities of their current position & this is especially visible in Sales where the job performance is quantifiable, for whatever reason believes that he or she should be promoted. It's a bonafide head scratcher for me, however there are lots of hiring managers whom believe that they should be allowed to interview for & receive the job, in many cases over an employee that has crushed their present job. Can we say POLITICS??? This type of hire in my humble opinion is past DUMB!!! I don't know if they still do it or not but at one time if you took a VP or any other Executive position with Burger King, you had to prove to the hiring team that you could work the grill & various other jobs inside the store. If not, no Executive job!!

Cheering students on in the world of banking! | University Recruiting Coordinator @ First Financial Bank
I ❤️ my job I often think back to my first job as a hostess at Texas Roadhouse. Standing at the host stand, I learned invaluable lessons that I still carry with me today. Every job is valuable!!!! You are always learning things that you will take with you to your next job. Here are some of mine from Roadhouse. ➡ Creating a positive environment Whether at work or in personal interactions, Texas Roadhouse taught me the importance of being warm and welcoming to everyone who walked through the doors ➡ Starting conversations with strangers I grew my skills in networking, ensuring that even a brief 5-10 second interaction could brighten someone's day. Still something I am striving to work on and improve to this day. ➡ Upselling There were always fun promotions and competitions. Upselling is definitely a skill that has proven useful in various professional settings. One memory that stands out is the back of our work shirts, with the words, “I love my job.” While I didn’t love every aspect of the job—sweeping mounds of peanut shells at the end of the night wasn’t my favorite—the shirt served as a constant reminder to approach work with positivity. When you show your customers that you love your job, they are more likely to love your company too. And let’s not forget those irresistible Texas Roadhouse rolls! Indulging in them during shifts was a perk, although our waistlines might have a different opinion. #firstjob #customerservice #careerlessons #positivityinwork

A few weeks ago, I completed a Franklin Covey training that shared a mantra that Leadership is a Choice not a Position. Today I want to celebrate these 6 talented individuals that made several ⭐ CHOICES ⭐ over the last 2-years as participants of Great Wolf's Management Development Program. 🗺 Choosing to Embrace Change: Opting for a program requiring multiple relocations, often far from loved ones, was a difficult but conscious choice they embraced with purpose. 💗 Choosing Growth Over Obstacles: Every challenge faced was an opportunity for learning and building a resilient growth mindset. ⏲ Choosing Extra Effort: Going beyond the basics by investing extra time in training, projects, and developmental activities. 📣 Choosing Feedback for Growth: Actively seeking and accepting feedback was a choice made to support personal and professional growth. 🌟 Choosing Transformation: From first-time leaders to the inspiring leaders you are today, every transformation was a result of daily choices. Congratulations, Colin DeVico, Collin Brickner, Dayanna Fuller, Michaela Salt, Seth Workman, and Tyler Moreno, CHIA! Your journey exemplifies the profound impact of intentional choices in leadership development. Your drive and passion pave the way for future MDP cohorts at Great Wolf. Special thanks to all Great Wolf leaders who chose to support MDPs on their journey. Here's to your ongoing success and the legacy you're building!

🌟 Bridging the gap between hospitality talent and global opportunities is our passion. We can transform it into a reality thanks to our schools and industry partners. Imagine this: La Chef Levi approached , Hosco's Senior Career and Industry Advisor, to coordinate a real-world labor workshop for culinary and pastry students. Francesca's response? "Of course, it'd be my pleasure!" (rolling up her sleeves) 💪 Our friends at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts Firenze jumped on board, with h Irene Seccia, Talent Acquisition Assistant Manager, giving students a glimpse into the world of opportunities at their esteemed brand. 🏨 To bring it all to life, Michelin star chef ef Paolo Lavezz shared his inspiring journey, giving students a taste of what their future careers could hold. 🍽️ A huge shoutout to , La Chef Levi's Managing Director, for his trust and partnership in making this happen. 🙌 Check out the school career site, powered by Hosco, via the link in the comments. #hospitality #careers #CulinaryEducation

For many of us in the Hospitality industry- you must have heard about or watched "Faulty Towers” starring John Cleese, British Sitcom from the late 70’s. For anyone who has not seen a clip and you are in hospitality, please find a clip and check it out. It’s old but you will be surprised with the similarities you see in your organizations. The video below was shared on line- a Front Office employee in some hotel losing his $#!%. It’s crazy because you see more and more of these clips popping up on Social Media. I recently received one where the valet proudly using his 5 star ⭐️ pin going absolutely crazy. I truly hope these are isolated cases. What’s going wrong? ⭐️Limited options when recruiting. ⭐️Poor training ⭐️Rude Clients ⭐️Poor work environment ⭐️All of the above Have you experienced this as a leader or a guest? What can we do to change it? #customerservice101 #faultytowers #creategreatexperiences
