We invited 30 BMW i8 owners from our Pure Impulse loyalty program to spend the night in the beautiful Suffolk countryside with our partner, the Wilderness Reserve. During the two-day exclusive event, guests were spoilt with luxury dining, axe throwing, archery, live music, and fire dancing amongst the stunning surroundings. During the event, they had the opportunity to test-drive our top-of-the-range models, including the M8 Gran Coupe, M8 Convertible, X7, all-electric i7, 8 Series Coupe, and M3 Touring.

The power of a brand is inversely related to its focus. The tighter the focus, the more powerful the brand. Scrolling through all of the properties on Marriott's site, there are a myriad of hotel brands to choose from. I make assumptions about the quality of each brand based on its nightly room rate...not based on any branding beachhead a property has secured in my mind. I worked for Porsche Cars North America over 2 decades ago, but I can still recite the brand proposition from memory: "German race-bred sports cars for driving enthusiasts who demand the very best". As Porsche branched out from sports cars into SUVs and 4-door sedans, only a slight tweak was needed to the brand proposition...replacing "race-bred sports cars" with "engineering". The focus was still tight. The value proposition was still unmistakable. Fewer overlapping sub-brands. A better "swimming lane" for each one. That will go a long way in giving Marriott more bang for its marketing dollar across the board.
